@xdman will this m lock knock out? i want to SBR this thing and put a small vertical grip there. the one that is knocked out that has the hand stop is too close to the muzzle for me.

No, but I don't see why you cant cut it out, but I am pretty sure you are going to not have room to mount anything, the barrel nut might be in the way not giving you the clearance. Remove the side panel with the torx screws, I am pretty sure those screw into the barrel nut. But only one way to be sure. You might have to replace the Magpul stop.

You are correct, i didn't even think about the barrel nut being in the way. so much for a grip there. thanks for the response.
