What are you doing right now??

Just returned from emergency vet visit for our Beagle, Maggie Marie. Heard her squealing in our backyard she was dragging her right rear leg in a lot of pain. Vet determined she had bad muscle strain gave her a shot of morphine, inflammation and pain meds. $450.00 for the emergency care, wow.
oh my
good you have a emergency vet near by
now she gets more hold me time and gives you the sad eyes fro treats

Yep getting the sad eyes treatment. Vet noted she is overweight and could have contributed to her injury. Wife and I are both guilty on excessive treats. We are starting today on cutting back on treats and feeding her people food while we are eating. Our city population is close to 70 thousand we have 3-4 vet clinics that offer emergency care.

I use the dogs kibble as treats, just cut back on meals a little

Just finished cleaning up tree debris and doing a walk around with the neighbors who were out at the lakes when the storm hit last night. They managed to get away with just a couple of dings in the siding of their shed. Both gardens are okay.
My neighbor spotted a ding in our new siding, but we have some left over to patch it. We were pretty lucky this time.

we have a 16-18 week old kitten that's injured somehow (no physical signs) that isn't very mobile. he still eats, drinks and can do his do. we have him on a absorbent pad incase he goes. being that i can't sleep very well on a bed i sleep on the floor. where i was sleeping was about 2' away from him in case he needs something (hungry, water or go potty). apparently he was moewing, but i couldn't hear him as it was a very soft meow. 2 o f my kids were up at the time and saw him against my back where he walked/crawled to. he needed help getting to the litter as he didn't want to go on the pad, so they helped him there. the vets around here are of little use (within 60 miles) even when calling after hours.

The wife and I had some business to take care of in Portland, TX, across the bay from Corpus Christi, TX. Today is day two of the opening of the new longest cable stayed bridge in the US. Several years late and over budget. Built by the same company that had a few of their bridges collapse in the last few years. Anyway, we made it over ok...this time. The bridge on the left is the old harbor bridge, and the new one is on the right. The other lane will open up in a few days.

bears a striking resemblance to the dames point bridge in jacksonville fl
stop at top and feel it sway
best part was its miles and miles of no entrances and you can get up your get up and go on it

Day 4 in my recliner post surgery is in the book. Thank God for Mrs Greener and my daughter looking after me. Getting pretty proficient with the walker and picking stuff up with the grabber. Constantly on the search for stimulating content on the TV. Thus far keeping my sense of humor and staying amused, largely due to y'all and your antics here. And the educational content, of course. Thanks for being here, my little circle of friends. But dang, whoever it is, could you try using some soap?😁
