Kuna Malfunction

Well, just in case you don’t believe it here’s a picture! I’ll also put a diagram of the bolt. There’s no pin that holds in the extractor. The extractor has to break for the spring to come out. in order for the extractor to break the metal has to be inferior.

Not saying I don't believe it. Just saying I didn't see some of the parts while just examining the bolt. If you're saying the extractor has to break for the spring to come out and a pin to drop, that makes sense that I couldn't see it.

Sorry if I sounded rude. I also had a hard time figuring out what was happening. I had to dig to find a pictures of the bolt diagram to understand how the extractor was contained. Just sad that I had high hopes for this product and got one of the bad apples. Will update after I shoot it.

Makes me hopeful they will figure this out. I work in the industrial field and have seen bad batches of metal before. Hope that’s all it was!
I want to be 100% clear… it sucks, and I feel bad for you, truly.
And clearly it has affected a few people here on the forum.

I’m in between…zero failures of any kind, but have had cracked mags. I’m not at 2K like Sharks, but I’m more than 50% of the way there… closer to 60%. Literally zero failures of any kind.

When you made a comment of “thousands”.. I wanted to make sure I didn’t miss something.

I hope they get it properly fixed, in short time, and you get to enjoy it like many of us have.
Sorry you gotta go through this. A dime or a dollar, it’s money… and it sucks.

Not sure if this means anything… just a point of reference.
Your picture above has your serial number in the 5000’s. Mine is 2000’s.

I think that was someone else who said thousands, I only know of a small handful

So…
Cartridge is backing out of the chamber as it is still firing. I believe the is damaging the extractor. Major design flaw in my opinion.

I will be shooting mine today if I can get a break from some rain. I will film it in case something happens. I cycled a bunch of ammo through the gun and watched to see if I could pinpoint any issues and it looks fine

Little upsetting I have not received any communication on why they think the issue happened. I sent the gun in and they repaired it but never contacted me about their findings.

That’s odd.
When I sent my Prodigy in, when it was sent back there was a paper with all the details of what was done to repair it.
I would call them, and say the warranty sheet/repair wasn’t with it when it was returned.
Mine was very detailed…

I am not surprised at all, why admit there is an issue. They included a parts list that they replaced, that was telling me what the issue was. I could have replaced the parts if they just sent me the parts.

I had an issue with Ed Brown once, I would never buy anything from them again. They wouldn't made us pay for a new upper slide for a 1911 and then kept the old one. It was very odd, and they blamed it on the ammo... Long story, but they never admitted that they made a major mistake

Curious to know if anyone else had an issue with the new Kuna. 19 rounds in to mine and the cartridge ejector or extractor went flying down range and a spring and pin fell on the bench. I returned it to SA via RMA almost 3 weeks ago now. Still waiting for it's return.
Well. They aren't saying it's not their fault. Some companies fix problems. Others issue press releases.... Like the one from Eckernförde.
