What are you doing right now??

Took daughter back to her dorm as she hasn't slept a single night there since Thursday. After she finishes every night at 9:30pm of practice her mom and I go eat and get some items she needs before leaving for home (whenever that'll be). She gets comfy on the couch in the hotel room and sleeps. Gets up at or around 6am so she can get ready for the day. This coming Monday school will start then she'll only have band 3 days a week (m-w-f) for 3 hours a day. I'm sure she'll be glad for that!

Hi guys,

I had a haircut today. I feel pretty.

Yesterday I finished up the DIY "refresh" on the bathroom. This was a project that almost skidded off the road out of control. It took the better part of four days for paint (2 coats), grout repair, calking, new mirror, new vanity, misc hardware (towel racks, water hoses, drain pipes, etc), and cleanup. Mrs. BassCliff and I made at least six trips to the hardware and home stores, exchanged one sink, I had to take a saw to the new vanity to modify around the old plumbing, but finally got everything reconnected. Just for fun, here are a couple of before/after pictures.

Mrs. BassCliff hated the light turquoise color. Now everything is a much brighter off-white.

Installing this new vanity and faucet almost killed me. Mrs. BassCliff also hated the old, janky mirror.

Old plumbing and drain made for some necessary modifications.

Plus, there was no grout under the old vanity. I had to fill it in because the new vanity is on legs. That caused another trip to the hardware store to pick up some pre-mixed grout and large sponge to finish the job. I may not be the best handyman around, but I'm cheap.

@Belt Fed and @HayesGreener are still in my prayers. I hope you guys are feeling better and recover quickly. God bless.

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

that's what i dislike about home improvement stuff that i many times do..."its always something" that you need to get to the store and get, or "re-modify" something to fit.

if i could afford a contractor every time, then i'd pay him (or her) to do it..but too many times, the money isn't there for a professional..

Great job

Why do it yourself when you can get someone else to do it 🤣

When it's a constant repair/replace/remove/redo it gets tiresome! I don't mind doing lots of the job myself, but I have limits!

Thanks for not looking at my work too closely. ;)

I don't mind hiring a professional when I'm totally out of my skill set. Mrs. BassCliff likes to be frugal when possible. I'm OK with paint and trim, very light plumbing, floor moulding, and stuff. This project really tested my patience. When we update the kitchen, I'm definitely hiring professionals.

Since it's too wet to mow today, I might go ahead and vacuum. I've got gigs tomorrow and Thursday. If I get too bored maybe I'll do my laundry. But after a project like that, I really don't feel like doing anything today. :p

If I can hide the work I do I get less grief over it from the supervisor

made the painful decision this morning
we let jetta go
the cushings was killing her the loss of an immune system was making it all most impossible to keep her skin clear of infections from anything that touched her
she found us a stray in sept of 2013. smart, understood sentences and was a great companion
we will miss her very much

we just could not see letting her continue downward. the new hole that appeared yesterday in her side really brought it full circle at hey this is not going to get better
my bulldog is now trying to figure out...hey where is jetta
so its beat up dad time
