Chamber Safety Flags

And it's by no means just chamber flags. Think for a minute of all the ''safeties'' on the common gas can. For cryin' out loud, realize that every 'safety' built into a gas can today, is reflective of the fact someone (idiot, lowest denominator, etc) has tried to do the very thing the safety is designed to prevent. Or how about step ladders ... and we could go on and on!!!!

i have it on good authority, this is the new safety protective gear, one must buy when also buying a step ladder of ANY height....

KF'77, I think you pretty much nailed it when you said this above in msg44: "Why do we bow down to the lowest demonitor for safety?" ... Unfortunately it's precisely because of those 'lowest denominators' that the rest of us must take into account for our own, and our friends and family's safety. If we who do abide by and adhere to safety issues did not live among those 'lowest denominators', no one would ever be hurt/shot, but unfortunately 'they do live among us'. I don't see it as "bowing down" to them even as I agree with your sentiment, I see it simply as the world we live in. (y)(y)
Think of it as defensive driving. The reality is that there are idiots out there. What I do when I’m by myself is a different story.

GOP has the same discussion going on another forum. I'm reposting what I said there.

The older I get the less I like controversy. On my range I don't use chamber flags
They're in my range bag but I don't use them.

Should I ever go to shoot on somebody else's range I'll abide by their rules. With the obvious caveat that unless I think their rules are absolutely unsafe in which case I will pack up and leave.

And if their rules include chamber flags I will use chamber flags.

My range, my rules. Your range, your rules
