So I’ve spent the last two weeks visiting https://staccato2011.com/ daily - usually multiple times. The only thing that has prevented me from making another significant donation to the gun industry is that I can’t decide between the CS and the C2. Well, and do I really think a gun, put together much like many others, is worth this amount of cabbage?

I mean, my CZ Shadow 2 Carry was less than 1/2 the price, is deadly accurate, and is only 5 oz heavier than the C2. The CZ S2 Carry build advantages are also clear - deeper mounted slide that clearly affects recoil and rapid follow ups, sunken optic mount requiring no plate, etc. About the only negative I can say about it is how hard it is to find a quality OWB quick attach leather holster - still looking and awaiting answers from a couple of makers.

I’ve read a lot about Staccato pistols being “all that and a bag of chips”, but when I try to research design differences compared to other pistols, I really can’t find much outside of quick trigger reset. The optics require one of their proprietary plates (though I do like the idea of having an optic attached and zeroed upon pick up at LGS).

And of course then I review the Prodigy’s at Springfield.com and realize one can be had for less than a similar Staccato. I am aware that some of Staccato pricing is for CNC machining + hand fitting builds versus a “line type” assembly that I believe Springfield uses outside of their TRP line (on the pistol side, I know nothing of their long guns). And then there is the fact the Staccato is only a few hundred dollars more than the SA TRP AOS models.

None near me to rent, so not an option. Being one who shoots at an indoor range and uses his guns for carry and home defense (no gun games), would a Staccato CS or C2 offer me anything I don’t already have outside of having a pistol stamped Staccato? I already have a few 1911s I can carry cocked and locked.

Almost forgot, the Staccato is made in Texas, so that’s a major check in the “pro” column! 😃

Sure … go for this instead: 😁🤠

Get some Taurus G3s and G3Cs for Katrina guns. (+/- $260) You don't want your $$ Staccato confiscated at roadblocks like they did in Katrina. No one ever got their guns back. They take a Katrina gun, go back home and pull out another Katrina gun from the deep preps. Providing the golden horde hasn't cleaned you out while you were away.

I have a Prodigy; I’ve shot Staccatos.

The juice is worth the squeeze, imho.

As far as the CZ comparison?

I prefer my Prodigy to my P229 Legion SAO (which is a great pistol, but…).

But my Wilson X9 smokes all of them.
Another option! I could always send mine it to have optic added (but then I have to pay for refinish too)…and it is about time to send it in for the complete tune up and inspection visit (had it since 2019)…

Then again, a complete refinish would be like a new gun!

All the C2 is going to do the your Shadow 2 isn’t already doing is lightening you wallet a good bit.😏. Very few folks can shoot better than a CZ Shadow. I know mine is far more accurate that me or anybody else that’s shot (proved by a Ransom rest). I’d bet you’re the same.

Thanks for the input everyone - yes, even the phaser 😂.

HansGruber and Shibadog win, just got off the phone with Wilson Combat customer service and awaiting an RMA/Shipping label to arrive via email so I can box up and prepare to ship the EDC X9. Didn’t save quite as much as I thought I might, but gun will be practically rebuilt and finish will change to FDE with black small parts to match a Trijicon RMR Type 2 3.5 MOA optic.

@ Shibadog - I agree. Based on last range trip, which was not bench rested, I doubt a Staccato will close my groups any, compared to CZ Carry. I do think my EDC X9 groups will tighten up significantly once I start using it with an optic!

I’ve shot a Staccato and liked it but I’m a poor so I went with a Prodigy and honestly you could send it off and have it worked over and be below the cost of a Prodigy. Personally if I’m spending that kind of money on a gun, it better have a stock and a magnified optic. But I can live vicariously through y’all

Good lord.

I was the voice of reason.

The horror…the horror…

I 100% get it…I won’t be bringing one of these home.

Staccato $2,400 plus or minus then 600 for Optic for 3,000 ish

Glock, M&P or SA Eschelon 600 plus 600 for optic for 1,200 add in a holster 150, mag pouches 70 plus extra mags 25-40 a piece plus several thousand rounds at 250 a case and your still under what the Staccato cost.

I know what I would pick but you do you!
