Well bite me on my ……..

I'll remind you about a study done by a noted researcher that found that old geezers looked at Playboy and National Geographic magazines for the same reason: to see places they'll never get to go!

I've whined about this before, but SA's crappy documentation is why i doubt i'll buy anymore Springfields.

When your documentation is intentionally of such poor quality that you have to buy a part to see what it really looks like, just to have to buy MORE parts, i feel like they've used poor quality to make money.

A part that is pointed on one end should not look identical to one that's flat on both ends.

I know, i got flamed by their fanboys before for expecting better quality, but i'm not spending THEIR money. When i can't go shooting because i have to wait for more parts, i'll just buy a gun that doesn't make me need to carry a spare gun.

"But it's the way everybody does it....". No. Sorry. When Glock has you beat hands down at something, that should be a hint.

What parts are failing on your Springfields?

But all those detents are not SA exclusive parts. they are all mil spec stuff. just buy extra parts from anywhere. they even sell small parts kits that cover just what you did. you aint the first one to ever lose a small spring or detent. my shop is probably full of them if i would move everything out and look hard, 🤣

Yeah. I get that., I bought a couple. And then bought the correct ones. Somewhere, I took a PHOTOgraph that shows the difference clearly

The point is, the low quality illustration's not clear enough to tell the difference.

Hell, they saved money. I get it. Good for them.

Yeah. I get that, but that's not my point.

Look at the online documentation for the AR-15 Saint. Can you see the difference in the drawing. I can't.

Shoot, i don't look at those drawings, i know what all them parts look like. but i been messing with them for many years.
I know the difference now and I might even remember next time I screw up.

Question- I've heard two different answers....

Does the safety indicator rotate 90° between horizontal and vertical and point straight up ? Or does it just rotate up 45° ( between horizontal and verical) ? The safety works but I don't remember it not being straight vertical.

I think for the prices you pay for guns, they should include a hard copy of the owners manual, no exceptions, even today, everybody doesn’t have internet…..c’mon Springfield, start including a manual…..
the last few guns i bought, there was always an owners manual...however, they were "generic" most of the time, and not specific to the actual gun i bought.

i guess its thier way to assume we all know each and every model they sell, and "generic" should cover all models..??
