WHY do the news, and other pundits not yell from roof tops at each shut down
about how congress should not be paid during a shutdown along with no back pay after shut down is stopped

if their pay was tied to hmmm actually doing their job... ?????????????????
the meme monsters should be full force to poke them in their eye, they get paid while the people that need a paycheck suffer
its not just social security

I completely agree. If their pay checks were affected, you bet your butt they wouldn’t be playing their pathetic little games. It blows my mind that a government can get to a point where it “shuts down” because two sides can’t agree on a budget. Tells me the amount of accountability there is.

I'm pretty sure that most politicians make more than their salary after getting into office. Not that they should get paid for not working.

Does anyone not think the Dems are not doing this on purpose knowing it'll get voted down. It's all a matter of who gats blamed. The Dems make a proposal that has things in it (poison pills) they know are non-starters but they get to say look at us, we tried to be reasonable but those mean old GOP's won't negotiate. The GOP's propose a "clean" bill ( Just like Dem's did when they were in power) and the Dems vote know because the GOP will get the credit if it passes. The GOP did this in reverse back when the show was on the other foot. Neither side really cares about the people and the shutdowns effects; that is all political theater. All the care about is power and who gets the credit.

Ahem, you obviously dont know about the obscene privileges of elected congresspeople and cabinet members in France!!!! Supposedly an egalitarian regime. Lived here until 2 years ago when I moved to Texas, where Austin feels like ultra conservative compared to degenerate France

Just remember those clowns are ALL millionaires so missing a paycheck is pretty meh. Be far better to just LOCK their dumb A—-s into the capital 15 days before then end of the fiscal year-and NOT let them leave the building until After the budget is complete!

Can't say I like MBS, the crown prince of Saudi Arabia, but he did one thing that I thoght should be done in the US: he summoned the richest men of his country to a hotel for a "chat". Then they were asked to cough up a portion of their money to the Treasury unless... They all did and MBS raked in more than 200 billion in a week.

Apply this to Congress and Senate and make the muthas pay
