Sister and I spent the day with mom. Got her out of bed, showered and dressed, and whisked her off to get her hair done. We went to a little pizza place down the road for lunch because they never serve pizza at her place. Then we went out to visit my niece and her husband at their home in Christmas, FL.

On the way back to mom's place we stopped for ice cream. It was a good day with her. She seems to be doing well in her assisted living community. She needs to be coaxed sometimes to join in with activities, but the staff always makes sure she gets her meals and meds.

I am going to go up there tomorrow and get her up and take her to brunch, and get her caught up with things going on back home where I live. I am so glad I can have this time with her now, but I am ready to go home...bone chilling cold or not. Florida is waaaay too peopley for me.

Cleaning a WWII FN High-Power that my step father brought back after the end of hostilities. Made in Belgium, German markings all over it (couple of swastikas, couple of German eagles), nice little keepsake.

Got all the errands done. Maggie did good at the vet. Apparently she has a tear duct problem in one eye and doesn't produce enough tears so she has ointment that has to put in her eyes every 12 hours and has a return visit to vet in a couple of weeks. Sure was an expensive visit but she is worth it. Hopefully this will take care of the issue. I didn't know that dogs could also get dry eye.

Speaking of Bass Pro, my Cabala’s is now Bass Pro, I know Bass Pro bought out Cabalas awhile back, but it still remand Cabalas, it must have changed maybe a month ago, it was still Cabalas then…..

our gander mountain, gander outdoors, then closed, then it was turned into a camping world store with stuff normal camping world did not have ???? it was weird, different brands and little boats
then it closed, the other camping world was just a few minutes away, made no sense.
sat empty for a few years
then bass pro bought it and spent a HUGE amount of cash to make the inside look like bass pro cabelas
now the have boats, campers SOME fishing stuff, very little boat stuff like bumpers, lines and life jackets
LOTS of electronics , very little hole punch stuff
lots of weird food items
and clothes to rival dillards and khols combined

Been spending time with my sister just doing errands and daily stuff. Went to play Trivia with her friends tonight. They play in teams weekly, they remembered me from the last time I was down here.
Now we’re in our PJs watching a newer version of Miracle on 34th Street. Won’t be long before bedtime.
