Window Replacement Advice

Window World replaced 14 windows in my place about 8 years ago. Last year one of them developed a leak (condensate on the inside). They had it replaced in about 3 weeks after notification. Other than that I have been totally satisfied. They told me up front that they do not finish the paint after installation. Not a deal breaker for me.
About 1/2 the price of Anderson and Gulf Coast window.
Edit…very noticeable change on my power bill.

This is the advice I took. Got e-glass double pane, and I’m glad I did. That glass has a peculiar tint, I don’t think you would want to mix and match on the same wall. Very effective in the summer.

Installation is very important, getting good measurements to begin with most important. While the product quality is important, poor installation will negate any advantage of premium glass.
 
had ours replaced about 28 years ago that had argon gas filled between a double pane to keep the heat outside during summer days....................it worked until it didn't as all of the gas leaked out. iirc, it was anderson windows. the bigger issue is that replacement windows aren't made like new install type...............doesn't have the flange on them.............unless you remove the brick or other exterior coverings to do so. no amount of caulk will ever keep the dirt and heat/cold from coming in. to me they cost more and are worth it..............just ask my wife! 6 windows @ $10,000...........what a joke! 1 was a 5x6 another 5x8, 3 were 3x5 and 1 was 2x3
 
I did have 2 Milgard windows installed 2 years ago. The windows are great but I used a local guy and just didn't like the installer. The windows they put in were installed just like a new build house. All old trim was removed and new window put in and new trim installed. Looks original. But these window were in a bathroom and other in washroom. Those 2 windows cost $2300. I thought that was expensive for small size windows. Guess I could have him come back and give me a price for the 6 I need to get replaced. Thanks for the responses guys, appreciate it.
