Dire situation in Virginia

I agree most of these are egregiously unconstitutional, but I tend to agree that "A person convicted of battery in a “dating relationship” loses the right to possess a firearm for 3 years" is not awful. Men, if you beat up your girlfriends, you've got issues and don't need to be in possession of a firearm.

Sorry about that.
A valid point, even though the penalty time could/would be argued and conditional. But in reality, those who act against human decency and the law have themselves forfeited their rights to "keep and bear" firearms. It wasn't taken from them. Generally speaking, no one is deprived of their rights, they choose to forfeit them. Yes, I recognize there are some exceptions to that statement, but they're often temporary or rectified by SCOTUS. It sometimes takes a long time for them to be rectified, but that too is the way our gov't is supposed to work.

Only time I carry in the shower is when I need to clean my gun. Two birds, one stone.
Not something I do regularly, but back when I did some muzzle load hunting, I would always take the barrel into the shower with me as soon as I got home and scrub it well in that hot soapy water. I'd prop it up in a corner of the shower till I was done and getting out, then dry the outside of both of us as fast as possible. But as warm as the water was it didn't take long for the barrel to air dry. Then after running a few swabs down through the barrel to dry it completely I'd add some oil ...... to the barrel, not myself.

😳
Can't help but believe this bill/law will undoubtedly go before SCOTUS and very likely be determined unconstitutional. The problem is how long before it can get there. Obviously it won't be until there are folks who actually suffered under this new bill/law, since unless and until there has been actual damages and it has made it's way through the lower courts SCOTUS is not likely to take it up.

Politicians are Lawfare.
Pass the bill and let them sue.
If 40% get passed and 60% get struck down by the courts, they still win on 40%

Think about that.

Thing is the majority of conservative voters did NOT get out and vote. Your failure to vote is a vote for this. No sympathy from me. I get tired of seeing this time and time again. Idiots, and yes I said IDIOTS, only go out and vote in the major elections, but not in the midterms when it counts the most, or refuse to vote because they don't like the candidate. They come up with every worn out excuse as to why they couldn't vote, then complain about how things turned out when their side lost. There is absolutely no excuse. Period. You get what you vote for, and you get what get when you don't go out and vote. And that goes for the ones who refuse to early vote, then on election day cannot make it to vote for whatever reason. Enough is enough. They have nobody to blame but themselves. It sounds like they are closet liberals. Want to blame everyone and everything for their failure other than themselves. I am tired of hearing the whining. If you didn't vote, you brought this on yourself. If you didn't get others out to vote, you brought this on yourself.
I completely agree with you. It frustrates the bejeezus out of those of us in the rural areas who take and make the time to vote, and it feels futile.

I agree. I didn't mean for that post to sound ideal or even optimistic, in fact I personally hate the way the anti's work things. I was only saying that's typically the way it goes and how it's typically the only way we pro 2nd supporters can deal with them. I wish to heck SCOTUS would finally rule that no anti 2nd law can be initiated for evermore. I'm not sure they can do that, but it sure would be nice and save all of us (both sides) a lot of aggravation, grief and money.
