Gents, we have a new to the hobby guy that is asking serious questions and looking for help. The Hy Point discussion almost ran me off the forum because I thought you were serious. Please don't do that with a new shooter.
For the record, it was not me to derail a thread. Shocking, I know, but trueI would like to applaud the members posting on this forum regarding this question. It took all the way to page three until it was derailed by Hi Points and Minions. While your restraint was admirable, the the inclusion of aforementioned items was inevitable. View attachment 103787

At the end of the day, its your money and your gun.Yeah, that TP9SFX was a wicked cool looking gun, and despite it's overall length I thought it felt more balanced than the Echelon, admittedly though, I'm by no means a professional so I may be WAY off on that comparison. If I was to give the shot accuracy award to any of these it would be the TP9SFX by a quite large margin, I'm not sure if my accuracy was due to the longer barrel, superb trigger feel or general ergonomics of the gun, and as you said it really is only about .75" longer than the others, but it just looked bigger than that LOL. At $499 for the kit with all the extra goodies, it certainly takes the win in that category too.
I am intrigued by the Mete SFT, because it's just a bit bigger than the Mete SF, and just a bit smaller than the TP9SFX...right there in the potential goldilocks zone, if it had the same trigger feel as the TP9SFX I think it would be my choice. Sadly there are none near me that I can try...well technically Bass Pro has it, but I can't shoot it there.
Yeah, with the Echelon maybe with a larger 20 round mag (I forget the size of the one we had...maybe it was 20?) plus an optic, would have maybe made it feel more balanced? I did like the gun for sure, it had a feel of quality if that makes sense, I certainly wouldn't feel bad owning it.
As I mentioned above, today's winner (for me) was the XD Mod 3, with the Walther coming in a very close 2nd, and the TP9SFX coming in just behind that in 3rd place, but I could happily own any of those three and call this story done and yet...
I know the XD Mod 3 should be the obvious choice since it took the win today, but there is something in my gut chewing at me saying "what am I giving up to hit that $325 price point", and therein lies the problem....
Of today's three "winners".
The Walther PDP maybe felt the "best made" (also most $$)...
The Springfield XD Mod 3 maybe best "all arounder" (the least $$)...
The Canik TP9SFX the most accurate and best trigger absolutely no comparison (the most included for the $$)
i had 2 Canik's, i think 1 was the TP 9, and the other was the Mete..??Of today's three "winners".

Sorry, for some reason I black out whenever I see a post from a bass player.Hi,
I guess you missed it being mentioned in post #28.
And, yes, training is required. Also, Perfect practice makes perfect.
Thank you for your indulgence,

Methinks that's not the grip texture that came from CZ...
Talon Grips....Methinks that's not the grip texture that came from CZ...
I just snicker to myself at the thought of a bass player going shopping at Bass Pro Shops. Am I the only one ?
I can’t believe no one has said HK VP9 or Walther PDP. As much as I love my VP9s, and by the way, I spent $715 for my latest VP9A1F, I believe that the 4 inch PDP Compact is the best value of any striker fired pistol. Very accurate, great trigger, great ergos, nice looking, optic ready, easily concealable, $575 from Grab a Gun.
And for the sake of a rant, it baffles me that with all the pontificating that goes on around here about caliber, capacity, training being paramount in defending your life, anyone would encourage someone to put ok their life in the hands of a $300 gun. I don’t care how good you reckon your LC9, Kahr or Miami Blue SCCY is and anything is better than nothing is horsesh-t. RANT OVER.
I do too.Yeah, I have that effect on people.
Thank you for your indulgence,
BassCliff
