The Top 10 Most Interesting Pistols of SHOT Show

Perhaps one of these Century's S&W will bring back the .41 Magnum Model 657 Classic Hunter.

List started with a $12K pistol and next up was KelTec. Guess they thought they have the entire spectrum covered.

I've been losing sleep wishing someone else would come out with another pistol that is "what Glock should have released"...not. When is it "major news" to learn of a manufacturer offering a pistol that has an optic mount that once only belonged to Glock?

Beretta, ever an industry leader, is bringing out an expensive .32 with an exclusive (read limited availability) distributor. They are re-releasing the Jaguar with "futuristic" styling. That went well with the Neos, didn't it?

The Canik is interesting, but my guess is that it's going to be bigger than many other carry options. Pistols are following the cell phone track. Make them as tiny as we can, and then we'll let them grow until people get tired of the size. Then we can offer "new and exciting" downsized versions again.

Call me jaded, but nothing on this list has me excited to run out and buy one. A clip fed carry gun from a company best known for cheap pistols? No. A $12,000 pistol that you can't shoot or destroy the value of it? No. A striker fired gun with a trigger alleged to be almost as good as a 1911 for 2011 money? Nope. A metal framed S&W cut for a $650 optic? Not until they lose the hand shredding texture on the front of the grip...wait a minute. Unavailable to the general public. Rebranded guns from a brand who has "gotten it right" this time? Oh, goody. A more expensive 2011 from a brand with a history of questionable QC and reliability at steep price point? I'll pass.

I don't envy those people tasked with trying to keep buyer intest up. There's a lot of options to available for the buying public; it's got to be a tall task to stand out. Maybe someone should just say they are discontinuing their entire catalog. Then they can reintroduce the majority of it with a couple of minor tweaks. Now THAT'S an idea!

The Steyr looks almost exactly like the Arex Rex Zero 2. Arex bailed out of the US market a few years back due to low market support. Hopefully the rebranded Steyr will do a little better. Glad to see the new model is optic ready.

I read all of the comments before I read the article. When I read the article I was reminded about the gun show thread we have been beating up... like, if this is what you get why go to a gun show at all? Since when is a Glock or CZ or M&P the most interesting of anything? Lame... better off going to a big gun shop IMO.

I'd love to see Colt come out with a version of the new Anaconda in .45 Colt.
They already have the Anaconda in 45 Colt reintroduced.

What I’d like to see is the blued Anacondas. I might be tempted to get one.

Currently I have a “Legacy” Anaconda in 45 Colt - one of the previous or first run Anacondas.
