Can you get past an actors politics

There are so many actors that I used to love, then I see them making political speeches. It took me years to get past Jane Fonda's treason and Im not sure I really ever did. I used to love Bruce Springsteen but I cant deal with his political BS anymore.

I really liked the Dixie Chics and they could say whatever they wanted but when they started bitching overseas I took exception ....and by the way their career dumped afterwards

To be clear, they are welcome to their politics (even if I disagree) but their job is to ACT

I had all the Dixie Chicks CD's. After they shot their mouth off overseas I took all the CD's out back and used them as skeet targets. You don't get to trash America in a foreign country on my watch.

I believe I've ran this one before, but . . .

In my humble opinion, we shouldn’t be subjected to any of their political opinions. If it happens to come out, we’ll 💩 happens, media will spread around something that was heard…but as soon as they start spouting off (especially out of country), they’ve lost my respect. They are performers, paid to perform and not to endorse one political party or another.

I talked to some kids that had gone to the anti gun rally in DC after one of the school shootings. They were excited. I asked if they saw any of the celebrities (cant remember who was there now). They said YES like it was the greatest thing, so I asked if they had bodyguards. Again they said yes and I asked if they thought the bodyguards had guns, "Well yeah". Thats when I asked why it was OK for them to have guns and not their mother. Were those stars more important than their mother? "Huh??" was all I got

When I go to a restaurant, I dont ask the chef his politics BUT when I was a uniform cop, I only ate where I could see the cook make the food.....
Interesting, in that when my father was a deputy, detective, etc, he would always eat where no one could get behind him without being noticed, see the customers, and who is coming through the door.

If they hold a belief opposing mine and keep it private, I don’t care. Ideally, I shouldn’t know what they think about hot topics.

If they want to preach to me about it, I don’t want to hear it. With some exceptions, that also includes if we are on the same side.
That’s not why I bought a ticket (again, with some exceptions, like at the NRA Annual Meetings).

You are an entertainer, so entertain. Sing, play, act, perform. If you aren’t doing that, I don’t want to see or hear you.
