Viet Cong’s Secret Weapon: The AK-47 in Vietnam

Hi,

Really interesting article. But he said "assault weapon". ;) Just kidding. That was the purpose at the time. I guess the units from Factory 386 are quite collectable these days. I'm sure I'll never see one. But I'm glad I have a cheap knock-off in my one-of-each collection.

May the 58,000 rest in peace and God bless their families. We are in debt to those who served in that brutal jungle war.

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

one rifle I just do not like. never took to the AK's of the world. not my jam. I can see it's importance, appeal and get it done rifle, but I hate the damn things.

I was of the same line of thought, until I fired a quality version.

I've owned better than a half dozen, my two current are are a Yugo NPAP, and an Arsenal SLR.

Both are dead reliable, and scary accurate

I have one that is disguised as a sporting rifle. I guess I should have taken a picture with the 10 round magazine instead of the 30 round mag.

I’ve fired true AKM and Ak-47s. Full auto versions as well.
Cant stand them. To each their own
