How do you handle SCAM calls

Some of us aren't cell phone Zombies.

But I do have a Tracphone for traveling & security.
Not sure about the zombie part, but today's cell phones are an amazing piece of technology with a lot of uses beyond talking to one another .... I even use the flashlight on mine and no longer carry a flashlight as part of my EDC kit.
Whodathunk of the light was a smart fella.

my Cell is my work phone:

the message says, hey this is the XDMAN I get so many fake phone calls with people trying to sell me things I do not answer my phone. If you need me leave a message so I can decide if I want to get back with you.

I have had so many people wish they could do the same.

I've been on top of a 10,000 ft high Mountain with folks that complain they can't get a signal so they can figure out which direction is north/south/east & west.

I show them my compass, and they ask me how the arrow gets a signal.

I don't exactly how this works, but my iPhone (haven't had a land line in years) will not ring if the number is not in my contacts. Problem with spam solved!

If a message is left, I'll listen to it, but spam callers rarely leave messages.

If its a text, my phone kicks that over to another list I have to go look for.

Bottom line, I ain't had a problem with spam in years.

I have the same thing.

Most if not all "landlines" connect to the cell towers. My mothers land line quit working, she called the telco and dude came out and replaced the sim chip. When I seen that I had a million questions. He told me most every land line now connects to cell towers. I always wondered why my mother's phone went through a tiny box before going to the wall jack.
This was Verizon/Frontier BTW. AT&T has the same system.
