Help identifying my new pistol

Hi all,
Just got a new (to me) 1911 today and am trying to figure out exactly what it is. Any help would be appreciated. If there is a serial number look up site please share. On the case the sticker says upc code PW9108LP. The next line says 45 GI MILSPEC. Any guidance and assistance is very much appreciated.

Guessing it's a Springfield MILSPEC 45. Only thing I can see different is the sights. Someone with more knowledge than me will help. Welcome to the forum from South Texas.
 
It's one of the old/long-discontinued "USGI " models thats been heavily "BUBBA-IZED".

AS you can see it's no where near it's original configuration. It's a shame since that's the only model that SA made in the original WW2 USGI configuration.

It's not a MILSPEC due to the original ejection port size & shape on the slide.

Yes, & No. It would have cost you more if it was in its original shape because they're highly thought of, but it's now a straight shooter with all the mods.

For $600 its a decent used shooter.

Well, you might've overpaid a little. I gave $650 for my SA Garrison 1911, used. Yours has a few "upgrades", grip safety, sights, skeletonized trigger, skeletonized hammer, probably other stuff. I agree with Belt Fed, if it works just shoot the beans out of it and enjoy.

Right now SDS/Tisas & Inland Manufacturing make the 1911-A1 in the original "WW2" Remington-Rand mil-spec configuration.

If SA brought that back they'd sell everyone of them (hint hint) for those of us that would want a period-correct WW2 era 1911-A1.

My 1911 in Vietnam was made by Rem-Rand had the very crappy sights, rattled like a bag of marbles but never failed to go bang.
