What are you doing right now??

Hi,

WOW sure hope its not worse than it looks(y)
water looks like its pressing up on your concrete.

Yeah, this is the first time we've had water in the basement. It wasn't enough to flood, sump pump was dry. But water was seeping up through most of the cracks, some worse than others. It has receeded now that the rain has stopped. My research suggests there may be an issue with the drain tile. I've never heard of such a thing until now. It will probably be $$$$s to fix right. I guess I won't be getting a new gun for a couple months. ;)

Thank you for your indulgence,

Our pheasants started laying eggs for the first time, have 9 out there right now. Wifey just ordered an incubator 'cause our pheasants are too dumb to sit on them. They're gonna be the eatin' kind.
You have pheasants??? Like people who raise chickens, but pheasants?? I love pheasant. And I know they are dumb as stumps, because I remember watching one fly across a road right into a chain link fence. And they run and fly right into a vehicle if you’re not careful around here.
I did not know that one could raise them like one raises chickens. Sorry…apparently I am easily entertained tonight, but I do love pheasant. 😊😎

Hi,

Just finished garage beers with the neighbor, waiting for either snow or rain to move in. No one know what form it will take at this time 🙄. Watching On Patrol Live right now, but not for long as my body is shutting down for the night as I write this.

Garage beers are the best. I hope the weather isn't too disagreeable. Hopefully we won't have any more rain until next weekend.

Having the first cup and Maggie has had her breakfast also. I am on a liquid diet for the rest of the day to prepare for the big event. How is one to be happy only eating liquid? Guess by tomorrow I shall not be in a cheery mood. I pity the person that crosses my path the wrong way! Other than that the day should be nice with temps in the 70's--perfect weather.

Sorry for your troubles. Since you had a lot of rain did you check downspouts on gutters to make sure they are not blocked. Is water moving downhill from the house? I guess there is some advantage to living in the desert--rarely have water issues but the heat is another story. Also most houses here do not have basements. Hopefully it won't be too expensive to correct issue.

Fire on the mountain. First ones at the range.

Thanks for your concern. The first major update we did on this house was the gutter system. Yes, water is a big deal around here. There's huge gobs of water just laying on top of the ground all over the place. Who knows how much is underground? Keeping your basement dry is sometimes a battle. Coming from arid SoCal, this is still pretty new to me. I'm learning. Things are a little different here in the Midwest.

Haha! Dumb as stumps sounds right. They never get smart, even when adults, after feeding and watering them for a year. Before I walk into their coop, they spook, and the male and two females fly into the wire cage and bash their pinheads against it instead of going into their house where they can get away from me. We raised an oddball rooster pheasant in WA state. He was tame and sometimes would walk to WALMART about 1/4 mile away and then come back home when he was done and want back in his cage. Hard to believe, but it's true!
