Bought a new Forester after 8 years. Did okay. I did tell the salesman if he had the Fargo Tru-Coat. He didn't get it until I asked him if he'd seen the movie. Then after we signed at the financial manager's desk, he asked "Are you excited?" I replied "No, we're too old to get excited about a new car." He gave us a funny look. As far as I am concerned, most cars became boring in 1973, and they are getting worse by the decade, like many things. I'm a real downer, ain't I? :p

nearly all cars are clones of another brand..our corollas look like Hyndai

good luck with the new set of wheels, and for the shortest time on earth...enjoy that "new car smell"

and if you fart outside of the car...that new car smell will last a bit longer.....don't ask how i know

Waaaaay too much electronics. When I bought my last Jeep, I realized that they were marketing them to women. Who ever heard of a Jeep with electric windows?
actually, "Detroit" listens to what the overall consensus of what the people want in a vehicle..

power everything, carpeting, A/C, sunroof.....carpeting, tinted windows, etc, etc.

and Detroit delivers, jacking up the pricings..

then there are the feds and what THEY WANT, like that 3rd brake light, ABS braking, backup cameras....

adding even more to the costs...

which has become maybe perhaps the #1 reason whay you crash the car, and maybe the tiniest dent..?

the car gets totaled by your insurance

Then the EPA steps in and thinks it will save the environment to have my engine shut off at the stop sign. It's a f' in computer on wheels. GET OFF MY LAWN!

I am in the process of upgrading my wife's Chrysler 300.
I am trying to find a sedan that is 100% made in the U.S.A. since the loan interest can be used as a deduction on next year's taxes.
So far, the big three are pretty much made in Mexico and Honda and Toyota are made here go figure.
The 2026 Subaru Forester is now made in Indiana. 2023 was the last year made in Japan. I'd be surprised if there's no outsourcing. Seems like none of the vehicles are 100% made in the USA anymore.

i thought i heard on the radio station news, that Trump put an end to the stop/start feature..??

when i was wrencher, the CCC carburetors were coming on board...ccc = computer command carburetor

they were complicated, due to NO factory training for us in the independent sector, and even many dealership wrenchers had no clue on how to diagnose them, and I DID work in 2 GM dealerships, a Buick and a Chevy.

then they went to throttle body, then injection.
