Where does your state stand on this 2025 gun ownership map?

When I lived in IL I 74 was the line separating 2 different cultures and then crossing I 70 (I think) in Effingham continuing South on 57 was another culture change. I will state that I wasn't aware of anyone that didn't have at least, a firearm of some type.

The more rural parts I can see it. I honestly think the farther away from Chicago a town is the more it’s accepted.

After four (4) pages of "New Math", Big Sky Country and it's neighbor WY (🎆) both remain in first place for having the greatest percentage (aka proportion) of their populations owning firearms (as per the original post) compared to runner-ups and those further down the list to the bottom.

Except there is still WAY more gun owners in Texas…and Stripes is still a great movie!

I'm pretty sure California gun numbers are higher than what the chart shows .... Just nobody wants to admit to owning them.
Gabby Nerdsome just joined this gun organization:

Sorry but I don't believe that's a real thing, the pistol thing only, the G would join if it's a real thing for the twenty votes ;)

I'm wondering if freedom Florida's numbers are affected by all the Northerners moving here or having a 2nd home here. I can't believe Florida is that low when we have a Freedom minded governor and even a number of Sheriffs who openly encourage gun ownership and usage. I'm disappointed, I think it's just another way out of state people are ruining my state. lol

jmo.
Every time I visit the East coast or Central Florida I hear a LOT of Northeastern accents. I am in gun country in NW Florida so you would get a whole different response. But I can assure you if I am polled on gun ownership my standard response would be "none of your damn business".
