What are you doing right now??

Sipping on my second cup of brown miracle drink and catching up on here. Yesterday we were on the road all day. We are in Wisconsin Dells for a long weekend get away. Both of us needed a break from the grind and we ā€œwonā€ this trip at the Cabela’s which was attached to our resort in Las Vegas late October. Of course we have to sit through a painful sales pitch on how awesome it would be to buy a time share šŸ™„, but we only have to pay $50 for all three nights and we got a gift card for $200 to use anywhere.
It’s cool out here and it’s still off season, but that’s right up my alley cuz for me, the less peopley the better. šŸ˜Ž

Hi,

I hope everyone stays warm and dry. I'm glad @belladonna and Mr. bella got a little vacay. The Dells are not too far from me but I've never been there.

Right now I'm gonna take Mrs. BassCliff over to Lowes to pick up some yard and gardening supplies. We're hoping to have the 14th or 15th best yard in the neighborhood. :p

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

Got both oil changes done. Actually the Buick was a breeze. The Ford was something else. I will never do another oil change on the Edge. Either i'll sell the thing or pay someone else to do it. What a pain in the butt turd. Some moron must have designed it.

Going to repair a ramp andcsome fence bosrds and hopefully mow my range today

Kinda bummed out right now. I had thought of going to the local gun show this weekend, but probably won't now. I have seriously thought of getting a SA Saint Victor 9mm pistol. I wanted to actually hold one in my hand so I could get a feel for it. And if I liked it, go to my favorite gun shop to purchase. They make the claim to meet or beat any other shop's prices. But I now found out that the surgery my wife is getting on her foot and ankle is going to cost us (me) $5500 out of pocket. So I'll have to wait at least another month on any new firearms. Unless my wife's CHAMP VA insurance finally comes into effect as a secondary insurance. If it comes through in the next 3 weeks, then it will pick up any out of pocket charges, and the surgery will cost us nothing. So I have to save my pennies for that surgery in case CHAMP VA insurance doesn't come through in time. I do not like going into debt for things, and always try to pay for things I purchase or need upfront, and not have to charge things on my credit card. I swear dealing with CHAMP VA insurance for disabled veterans dependents is worse than a veteran trying to deal with the VA himself. And it's not like my wife is going to use it as the primary insurance, we have Blue Cross Blue Shield as our primary! OK, sorry, rant over.

I am finally getting one of those "round tuits"....

My ol' faithful J-frame that I've carried 24x7 for quite a few years was needing a little love...

1) The VZ G10 grips needed a little dremel work for a slightly better blend to the grip portion of the frame. There are also a couple of places where there are some edges and contours which are just a little too square for comfort. Give 'em a touch of the ol' Dremel. Check.

2) The innards need a little dusting out. I had visions of pocket lint encasing every internal part and spring, so remove the side plate and do the needful housecleaning. Check.

(It was actually amazingly lint free. The "Centennial" models are pretty well sealed up, evidently)

AND 3) It is one of those models that has the integral lock. Delete that thing! Check.

(I did the "stealth" delete, which retains all the original parts, but has the hammer engagement nub removed from the lock mechanism. I like it! I think that some of my other "modern" S&Ws will get the treatment).

Well, she's all back together and back on the job. She ain't overly purty, but man, she can cook!
