Emergency Money

All you need is a ski mask and untraceable pistol😁

Strangely I have quit using cash for daily expenses while at the same time keeping much more currency for emergency use.

Went on a CO hunting trip with a group. The country had some sort of financial emergency and all the cards were locked down. For some reason I had decided to take cash instead of relying on cards. I was like a Wells Fargo for a day. 2 pickups and 6 broke guys for a day. It sure impressed upon me the fragility of the system.

For those who keep cash around, do you keep small bills? 1s,5s and 10s? If things were to go sideways and you found somebody who will still take cash, but all you have is hundreds. Guess how much that loaf of bread or can of beans is gonna cost?

No, I do 20s, 50s and $100s. Couple of grand, total.

I live on the northern coast of the Gulf of 'Merica, so I am in hurricane country six months out of the year. When a storm hits, the power is out, sometimes for weeks at a time.

I can't very well run my credit card, but I can darn sure grab some ice and a 24-pack of ___________ for $50 and have a little change left over. Never had anyone threaten to upcharge me either. Probably has something to do with everyone running around post-landfall strapped with their Pistola, I'm guessing.
