Red Dot Recommendation for Prodigy 4.25 AOS

TBL004

Alpha
What RDS would you recommend for a 4.25 Prodigy AOS? Looking at the Holosun HS507C-X3-RD. Believe this RDS uses the RMR footprint so I would need the AOS RMR plate to mount. Not committed to any particular footprint but would like to get a RDS that has the battery easily accessible rather than removing the RDS from the plate to change the battery.

I have the Holosun 507 green dot on my 1911 TRP CC and it works great for me. The AOS system works out great. Use locktite and torque the screws to factory specs when mounting the plate and optic as they can shoot loose under recoil. Mounting screws will use two different size Torx bits. I use the long shaft bits made by DeWalt that I bought at Lowes

The new 507C X3 is really nice. I recommend it. If you’re shooting competition I would look at the 507 Comp.

Probably won't be shooting any competition but will check it out. Thanks for the info.
EDIT: Like the reticle on the 507 Comp but it looks a little "busy" for EDC. Once I get the Prodigy set up and get around 500 reliable rounds through it (up to 350 now) will carry it and designate it for HD.

I’ve got a couple of the multi reticle Holosuns and I never use the dot circle, it gets in the way. Anything beyond ten yards and it’s just a blind spot, IMO. I train almost exclusively with optics on my pistols and the days of not finding my dot are long gone.

I have a Sig Romeo X compact on a 365 Macro. The X compact has the dot and circle. Both work well for me. Would like the same reticle options for the Prodigy.

I have been training with the fine green dot but recently switched it to the circle as I want to learn how to use it effectively. Thus far I think the circle gets me target acquisition faster inside of 15 yards, but I need to shoot it for a while that way before passing judgment.

The Osight SE enclosed in green is what I have on my AOS TRP and I have the Osight C on my Echelon. Both are excellent optics and at an excellent price.
