I just noticed that the barrel and slide of the Echelon both have the COG serial number on them. Is this for warranty purposes, or something that Illinois has mandated? Just curious.

As I understand it, this is a European regulation. You find the same thing with Walthers and HKs. The slide and barrel will have the same serial as the lower, even though the lower is the serialized part.

Yes, the factory barrel and slide have the serial number on them.

Remember that the Echelon wasn’t made here in Illinois. Plus nothing here in Illinois requires matching everything.

I have a Winchester 75 where the bolt and receiver have matching s/n's, only because they were hand-fitted at Winchester way back when.
