love that Lucas Extreme Duty oil

yeah, i am going to the range thursday mornin', and will be taking the Dan Wesson PM 45.

last time it went for a work out was back in january.

i have for a long time now (at least 2 years..???) been using Lucas Extreme Duty oil.

i did a quick field strip, to check on the slide and rails, and yup...still wet.

in "sharp contrast", oils and even synthetics i had used in the past.......evaporated..??

this was a discussion many of us here had, and if you recall, BassBob was here as well.

it was said that YES, many gun oils evaporate over time, and i personally witnessed that with oils, including Weapon Shield Synthetic, does indeed evaporate, which ticked me off to no end, given the money spent for "super lubes", and shelf over flowing with "gun oils"

yes, i tried Mobil 1, like some here have said they use.......i use Mobil 1 (labeled Toyota) in my car(s) engines...PERIOD.

good to see that 1911, was still wet, rather than dry as a bone.

for the record...i rarely if ever, use any grease, except for my carry guns, on those rails/slides, to prevent the oil from migrating down into my holster.

Only products I use, there bore cleaner is also very good, no strong smell.

I have encountered many students whose oil had dried up on their guns and gave them malfunctions. It is why I only use grease on the rails of semi-autos. I like Lucas Oil grease just fine and have a tube on my bench but the blue stuff will stain your clothes, so I use TW25 on carry guns instead.
I like TW25 but it gets runny when it gets hot. I use Gun Butter on my rails and Lucas Oil everywhere else.
