Retired here to, days don’t matter, my days are just doctors appointments or tests anymore…..What does the day of the week matter? Retired!![]()
I could never understand that either. I smoked for more than 50 years, up to 4 pks a day for the last 25-30. Then one dark 3/11/09 night at 11:55pm I lit up my last one. I laid the pk, about half full, down on the table with my lighter and smoked the one just lighted till the stroke of midnight. I put it out and never picked up another one. Now don't misunderstand, I still loved the smell of tobacco burning and never prevented anybody else from smoking in my truck while riding together. I didn't encourage it, but never asked them not to.What does the day of the week matter? Retired!![]()
Good for you. Some people “try” repeatedly. My uncle Jim smoked for decades, 3 packs a day. Decided to quit, threw away rage pack and never lit another. Takes determination.I could never understand that either. I smoked for more than 50 years, up to 4 pks a day for the last 25-30. Then one dark 3/11/09 night at 11:55pm I lit up my last one. I truly loved the feeling of a long draw and a deep inhale, and quit 'Cold Turkey' only because I decided to. It had nothing to do with health nor cost, nor any other reason. Simply because I decided to. Left that pk and lighter on the table for 3 weeks. The wife kept urging me to get rid of them so as to not be tempted. I told her then that pk meant nothing, and if I had wanted a smoke I could have walked almost directly across the street to a 7/11 and bought all I wanted. At the end of the 3 weeks, I finally threw them away to the delight of my wife.
And we lived happily ever after. Well, up till yesterday 6/30 which was 58 years with the same woman who put up with me for all that time. I like to think of her as a very lucky woman!!!!![]()
