What are you doing right now??

got back from the doctors office....gave me another steroid shot.....

he is going to send a referral to the surgeon downstairs from him, and i will be contacted in due time.

this shot, my 3rd so far, was the absolute easiest yet..

i felt the pinch, i could see the needle on the monitor, and asked him how much deeper he will drive that thing..

so i could expect the pains like the first 2 times.

he said he was done.....!!!!

i said "no way, go back in, there was no pain, and i can't cry like a little girl again".

he and his assistant, did laugh.

he did go on to say the gel shot, and this steroid can be done at the same time, but the surgeons like to give that gel shot, towards the end of the steroid life.


so, in about a wee bit before 3 months from now.....

i just gotta wait for that call, to set up an appointment.

i would be surmising, if he says i do need a new knee, i hope to get that done in early spring...??

Just do yourself a favor and check your surgeon’s reputation. Wish AI had done that on knee 2,3,4. Not all are equal to the task…

i was actually going to PM you, as i know you had both knee's done.

thing is, if i recall, you had yours done thru the Vets hospital..???

if so, you had one up on me......

i have co-pays.......


you don't, so i gotta watch the extra expenses....or at least the ending of the payments Blue cross will pay for the therapy.

would i be correct with my assumptions..????

when i get the appointment with this surgeon, i will post what he says as well.

as for the operation AND the PT, i was watching actual certified PT people, and a doctor himself that had a knee replacement..

that's all i had to go on, until you spoke of yours....and @OldGrunt 's of his........

now you see...this is what i fully appreciate, an actual member here, relating his (and even hers) same type of operation....

it gives me hope..>!!!!!!!

he's got 5 stars, and from what i am reading excellent reviews, as well as his assistant......

i don't want to post his name if you don't mind.

if only in case something goes wrong, and he cannot actually see me, but another doctor in that office can instead.

While my knee problems were service connected and have a disability rating for my knees with the VA, I did not use them for the surgeries. At the time I had my surgeries done, I was still working, and used my saved up sick leave from saving many years worth. My insurance was Blue Cross/Blue Shield. I was in my late 50's when I had it done. It was well worth it to me. Many people say the pain and suffering is the worst thing they have ever experienced, but I thought it wasn't all that bad. I've been through much worse pain in my life when certain injuries happened. And the worst surgery recovery pain I have been through was for my back surgery. I even told the back surgeon I'd have rather had a third knee replacement surgery, than go through the pain of another back surgery! And like everyone else has said, take your physical therapy seriously.
 
Just had a phone call from my doctor. The results of my CT scan from last week show that the blood clots in my lungs are now gone. I had suffered a pulmonary embolism back in Jan. I can now stop taking the blood thinner Eliquis. No more having to worry about cuts and bleeding like a stuck pig! It will be nice that now I'll have one less pill to take twice a day from the hand full I already take twice a day!

funny, as i had, had 4 back surgeries.......the morphine was marvelous in the hosptial...

but once home, if i touched the oxy's or naproxens, it may have been all of 6 in total over the several months recovering at home.....then it was mostly Tylenol OTC strength.

yes, the PT i had 1 issue...getting into "the pool"...

i refused to do so

reason...??

i almost drowned when i was a kid.......

i'll only put a toe into the ocean at the edge of the sand, and even then, wearing a life preserver.

ain't nothing more reminding of drowning than a pool in front of you.

i just thought you went to the vets hospital.
