What have you bought firearms related in the last 48 hours?

Went to the gun show today to do some window shopping. At one table, a guy was selling old military surplus gear. He had a couple of expended M72 LAW tubes for sale, and an old beat up AT4 expended tube for sale. I about hit the floor when I saw he was selling the AT4 tube for $1500! I asked the guy if people really pay that kind of price for that. He said people sure do. I have an AT4 tube in my closet, in like new condition. It is actually one that I shot while in the Marine Corps. Our platoon was running the AT4 range, so we were tasked with clean up after all who were there were done shooting. I was able to snatch away the expended tube of the AT4 that I had shot. It was I believe 1994 when I shot it, and I've kept it all these years, planning to turn it into a lamp. If I can get that kind of money or better out of it, you better believe it's for sale! That news made my day. While I didn't buy any firearms, I did pick up a few new metal signs and stickers for my collection.

Well, the husband wanted to attend this "event" at a certain sporting goods store in the small town we were staying at for his cousin's son's wedding, and I never ever mind a nice browse in a sporting goods store. So on Saturday we went in the morning and of course all the long gun ammo he wanted was sold out already so we just looked around, and of course Kimber had a rep in house so he had to talk him up. I think we left with a case of Blazer 124gr 9mm. They had no 45ACP .

We went back on Sunday because the hubs wanted to compare notes with the Kimber guy on the limited editions he has acquired in recent months. So, we are at the gun counter and....I got bored , so I started looking. Well, they didn't have my grail gun, just the usual SIGs. I worked my way down the line. They had some nice FNs. I got down to Smith and Wesson and my eyes locked onto this...

Their sale price was almost $300 off MSRP, so it practically threw itself at me :giggle:. It felt so good in my hand I couldn't say no.

The husband bought a bicentennial limited edition Kimber 2K11

Now we have to start down the suppressor rabbit hole 😎.

That is so sweet. Seems like you two really know how to take care of each other. Congrats on the new additions.

Thank you for your indulgence,

Sordin Ear Protection, costly at $350.00 but I really don't need any more hearing loss.
I broke down and bought these for my birthday [from the Mrs.].
My 35 years as a mechanic, riding in fire trucks, and shooting 22s when I was younger without has destroyed my ears.... Constant ringing of tinnitus is miserable.
These hearing pro are the best thing I've ever done ti protect my ears, even though it's probably too late

I have often laughed internally about the price of personal protection equipment, both on the job and off. We will spend huge amounts on guns and related stuff, and I've seen people using cotton stuffed in the ears... There's plenty of good stuff out there, to the point, it borders the edge of stupidity not to have the ears protected.

The VA gave me an excellent pair of Hearing Aids, glad I didn't have to buy them, at $4 grand a pair. The Hearing Technician told me he couldn't prescribe them, but to get the best Hearing Protection I could or stop shooting. A Friend recommended Sordin, so that's what I ordered. I can't stress this enough to young and beginning shooter's that your hearing doesn't "Heal" once it's gone it's gone for good.
