The LEO that posted that video is active Swat, Instructor and competition shooter that wins matches also. Knows his stuff.I see military and leos at competition regularly. Most can't shoot their way out of a wet paper bag.

Wow, at least 49 rounds fired where did all that lead go?I’d say the police fired a few rounds.
Local PD shot and killed a man that threatened the public with a machete and refused to drop the weapon when commanded.
By the local news pic, i see at least #49 evidence marker for shell casings
I’d like to know how many times the subject was hit

Think you're right. Although tongue in cheek probably pretty close to reality.I’ll have to say, tongue in cheek, that if you run from the police, run in a straight line. The chances of them connecting a shot is slim![]()
I have been with my agency for almost 8 years and still have yet to have any force on force training. It was supposed to happen shortly after I graduated the academy, but that was March of 2020 and the whole world went insane. Our trainers keep saying they are going to do it, but, I am not holding my breathI wasn't there, so I'll not judge. Knowing what shooting at and having returned fire directed at me is like, range time may or may not be needed or afforded the officers, officers need more.
Officers generally stand on a line with paper targets and little stress. Officers need to know something about the stresses of a gunfight before it happens to them.
Maybe some of the departments could use air soft, or paint balls to acquaint the officers to stress, something..... IDK.

We do a tactical shoot once a year that has us moving and shooting, that's the closest we get to anythign actually practical for the field.
I have found doing some practical pistol shooting at my local club to be somewhat helpful. No one is shooting back, but, at least, there is movement, and the stress of competition. And it's indoors, so they will do different thinks with lighting, smoke machines, etc..
But, yes, I think some type of force on force training would be the best. And somewhat regularly, too
