...Then this meme is for you!

academy sports used to be that way.... even the janitor had to look.
now one manager looks at it, gives you a look like she or he is a customs officer at airport, then sends it and hands you the empty bag, so they can walk it to the door and hand you a FIREARM at the exit
L&M Farm Supply is also the same. Absofreakinglutely ridiculous!

I may pay a bit more, but I limit my buying to my little gun store and private dealers at a gun show. It's the same reason I try to buy American when possible.
I'm the same when it comes to tools. I didn't like how so much is made in China, and big-name brands are all guilty. But I was only looking for screwdrivers, so I shopped around and found out that ChannelLock makes 'em too, not just pliers. They are 100% Made-in-USA. Nothing that has their name is made ANYWHERE else! Even Milwaukee can't boast that!

a funny note
my LGS closed a few months back, they had been around for about 7 years, bought a few from him.
he and his brother owned it, but they started having girl trouble... brother ONE was bonking brother TWOs wife and it guess it go to much for them
My old man had a rule. Never go into business with family or friends. He'd seen too many instances where those kinds of owners would have a falling out precisely because it was friends/family.

I've never done it, but I've seen it happen with band personnel, especially when the band leader/star/lead singer is a good looking female. It's one of the quickest ways to get left on the road.

Thank you for your indulgence,
