8.5" 308win compared to 300bo or 5.56, the 5.56 is the worst! BO being mostly pistol powders keeps it down and the 308win is just a deeper tone, but still loud as it doesn't have the crack to it

I should have said if you have an 8.5 in AR or @TEXASforLIFE shooting anything next to you!

I tried those and not a fan for the range. Mine are 3 years old now

I had an audiologist make me a pair of custom fitted "lead BB" plugs when I was a serious shotgunner once upon a time. Very effective. I use Axis GS Extremes as @BassCliff mentioned during hot summer months or foam plugs with Sordin Supreme Pro-X's for heavy caliber or unsuppressed short barrel rifles. I use my Sordin's during the winter months.
