What are you doing right now??

Hi,

Finishing the drive keyways in a coiler drum shaft...

Ever seen an 18 wheeler with steel wound into a roll? This is the shaft that drives the hubs that do the winding. Weighs 28k pounds.

See the big roll in the background? It weighs 55 tons or 110,000 pounds.View attachment 120431

On big projects like that, do you recycle the metal shavings and filter the oil for reuse?

Hi,

I'm getting my kit together. I've got an outdoor training class this evening. I'm making sure my flashlight and earpro are charged up. It might get dark before we're through.

We'll be runnin' and gunnin'. Fun stuff.

Hi,

It's time to get horizontal. I had a good class at the range today. It's been a while since I've used my Mod.3 with optic and my new gloves took some getting used to. At least they did not slow me down on our timed drills. Full range report tomorrow. Be brave. Do good.

got up earlier than usual, finishing my 4th coffee, and have to head out for "errands"...then to the club with the Ruger GP 100, and i looked at my logbook, i ain't been there since August 3rd.....

i knew it was a while, but not that long..

i think the reason was that during the hot summer, no a/c is turned on, until you get there, and YOU have to turn it up.

otherwise, it does make sense to shut it off, if the building is empty.....but all the sweating you do until it cools down.....

and for me, i like to get in, shoot, then get out.......i just don't like to wait.

i can deal with it being cold in the winter time....i can always just wear my hoodie.

anyway. maybe some yard work when i get back.
