Finishing the drive keyways in a coiler drum shaft...

Ever seen an 18 wheeler with steel wound into a roll? This is the shaft that drives the hubs that do the winding. Weighs 28k pounds.

On big projects like that, do you recycle the metal shavings and filter the oil for reuse?

Yes and yes. We have an 8 yard dumpster supplied by a salvage yard for metal refuse. We are a very good customer.

Went thru my hunting pack today to shave some weight out of it for now with a seond evaluation later, and then hopped on the exercise bike for an hour spin due to weather outside.

Hi,

It's time to get horizontal. I had a good class at the range today. It's been a while since I've used my Mod.3 with optic and my new gloves took some getting used to. At least they did not slow me down on our timed drills. Full range report tomorrow. Be brave. Do good.
