What are you doing right now??

Well, the first morning having coffee without my girl. God, what a lonely feeling. This is not what I expected to happen. I had plans, nobody knew but I was going to stop working at the end of the year then I would again be able to spend our days together. Now I don't know what to do. Wife has been crying since yesterday. There will never be another Maggie. Will probably not get another one as at 70 I do not want to leave a dog alone if something happens to me. Plus just don't think I could go thru this again. That dog was an angel.
Aw, man, so sorry! I just went through this with my Rylee and I know it really hurts. Treasure the memories my friend

Having my cup of coffee. It is 42 degrees outside. One day it was hot and the next day cold. Going to get dressed and go for a walk then have some chores to do around the house. Have not picked up anything that belonged to Maggie yet. Really having a hard time with that. I did not think she would leave us this early and was not prepared. So far my retirement years have not been so happy.

Realizing I miss the company of a dog. For the last 35 years a dog has been a part of our lives. They have all been crazy huskies! Really having problems wondering if and when we should get another one. I am not getting any younger. I guess time will tell.
This is just a thought. Take the appropriate time to grieve for Maggie. But don't give up on getting another dog. But maybe a small dog this time, one that might not need as much attention or exercise as a large dog would need. And sometimes it's just nice to have a little dog crawl up onto your lap a fall asleep in it. It would also be easier for just one of you to take care of it if the other partner passes away. Again, just a thought. I know you are going through a tough time right now, and I am truly sorry about that.

No matter what the pain is from the losses of my dogs, I believe life is better with dogs than without.

I will always have dogs...
