Waaasaa. Congratulations on being 70 plus years old. I'm not really sure what that has to do with anything.

To the person who posted I should ask for a letter, I did get that letter and our lawyer at work is assured me it's admissible in court if something horrible should go wrong. It's off to the range for me.

Good suggestions and the most useful information I've seen posted so far. Thank you. Why is it that people with the least amount of experience (admittedly) feel obligated to weigh in. Most were searching for a solution that didn't have a problem. The purpose for posting was to draw attention to...

    RMA Issue

A lot of communication is tonal inflection, facial expression, body posture, Etc. I am not a writer by vocation. I have spent the better part of my life in an all business environment and learning how to explain my thought process or defend a decision. Everything is questioned. If I have...

I asked a fair question. How is that combative?

So you think I should pay for non-destructive testing?

That's my plan. Unfortunate that it's working out this way.

Thanks for weighing in. Their post inspection report clearly stated gas cutting and they suggested I change ammo. They didn't bother to address the safety of operation. I did call them about it and they rationalized that since it was returned to me that it must be safe.

It's got nothing to do with not "hearing the answer you wanted to hear." That's a weak defence of SA response. What I did expect to hear was a rational explanation as to why their experts deemed it safe to operate. It's easy to say it's good to go, but their FACE AND EYES aren't behind that...

It is essentially an expensive paperweight until I hear back from Springfield Armory.

    RMA Issue

I have no loyalties to ammo. I essentially buy what's on sale. This was ammo purchased over two years ago. This is commercially available ammo. I don't want to start any crap with ammunition manufacturers so I have redacted their names. I have a feeling that trying to seek relief through the...

It is exactly as it appears. I don't have instruments small enough to measure the depth of those cuts but as an experienced engineer I would say .006-.010 deep

What would you suspect that a gunsmith could tell me that Springfield armories own Armory personnel have already set. Springfield Armory is the only entity here that has any liability for a faulty product. I'm not sure I'm willing to test their competence at predicting failure, and a gunsmith is...

    RMA Issue

Springfield Armory has inspected this firearm. They had it in their shop directly in their face. Once again I'm not denying there is gas jet cutting. I'm only questioning Springfield armories decision to accept liability for a firearm that could possibly go kaboom instead of offering to replace...

    RMA Issue

I wasn't trying to be rude. Someone suggested that that cutting would just rub off. My whole issue is not that I did not die there is gas jet cutting on the breech face. My issue is that the armor and customer service at Springfield Armory refused to entertain the possibility that it could be...
