I really like my SP101. On occasion I carry it in a Ritchie Leather ankle holster. Buffalo Bore Heavy .38 Special +P Pistol and Handgun Ammo shoots more to point of aim in it.

Well I called Springfield and they sent me an RMA and shipping label. The person I spoke with agreed this shouldn't be happening, he suggested they may just send me a new gun. They will call me when they receive the gun.

I can believe that about your friend. I've worn a high polish blued Colt in the same holster in the heat of a Florida summer when evertime you went outside you could be tracked by the drops of sweat you were leaving behind and the Colt didn't rust. So I suspect it's not that.
