    Prodigy DS - Aftermarket Thread

I did. My trigger pull tests consistently in the 2lb range. With a Wheeler digital gauge. This is a lot less than what Nighthawk advertises, but consistent with posts I’ve read with claims of 50% reduction in trigger pull. I can’t discount the possibility that I could just be using the gauge in...

    Sellier & Bellot Ammo

Put another 200rods through Prodigy today since getting it back from Springfield. No ftf but did have 2 light primer strikes. All 200rds was S&B 124 FMJ. Wondering if this could be an ammo issue. I saw some old posts about people having similar issues with S&B but the latest (that I saw) was...

    Double Stack Fever

“…I think you’re chasing an ideal rather than an actual gun….” You’re on to something. Looking for the perfect pistol for me. I’ve had SAO’s, DAO, DA/SA etc. There always seems to be a trade off. Once I discovered the double stack 1911, I knew I found the platform. Now I just want the best gun...

First Look: Springfield 1911 DS Prodigy 9mm

Starting to consider selling my Prodigy and P320 and picking up a Staccato P. I’ll lose some money but …..

    Double Stack Fever

Sorry I wasn’t clear. Not saying the Staccato and Bul Armory are priced lower than the Prodigy. What I mean is that the Prodigy, Bul Armory and Staccato ($1,600 -$2,500 or so) are lower priced pistols compared to Atlas, Chambers, etc (above $5k)

    Double Stack Fever

I love the double stack platform! Best option (for me) in terms of ergonomics, trigger and capacity. I now have my Prodigy 4.25“ with some mods done but still have less than 500 rounds down range. I wonder how much better (if at all) some of the other “lower priced“ pistols are. I’m particularly...

First Look: Springfield 1911 DS Prodigy 9mm

Sent the TLR-1 back. Going to get a Surefire X-300. I have mixed feelings. I know it’s a great light, but it seems a bit long for the 4.25” model.

@dajogejr, I like the idea of the single sided safety. Any thoughts on whose is a “drop-in“ part or close to it? Which Staccato do you have and how do the Prodigy and Staccato compare?

First Look: Springfield 1911 DS Prodigy 9mm

The first failure was a Federal American Eagle 147gr flat nose. The second failure would have been either S&B 124gr or Winchester 124gr NATO. I have a lot more shooting to do to see how things work out. I have collected about a thousand rounds of various brands and types of ammo 115, 124, 138...

    DS Prodigy Thumb Safety Removal

Springfield had it for a month I’m used to waiting. It’ll be easy to tell yours from mine. Mine will be the one that’s marred up from my home gunsmithing work … it’s a good thing I don’t do it for a living. I’d be on the street.

    DS Prodigy Thumb Safety Removal

I saw that! Still can’t get it to mount … These damn new hands of mine just can’t seem to do anything lately.
