    Taurus G3C

Agreed, but there are worse things in life, too. Took my hit and moved on. :)

    Taurus G3C

I apologize for spacing this request for info. I ended up polishing the feed ramp, and the sides of the ramp where it funnels up into the chamber. There was no chamfering around that portion of the chamber, critically important as this is where the mouth of the case was catching badly inducing...

    Taurus G3C

Yeah, I've owned several Taurus G series pistols over the years. Also owned Sigs, Glocks, Rugers, Caniks, CZs. I'd never had an issue with any of them. Recently purchased a G3 TORO, and man, right out of the box major issues. Sent it to Taurus, and their turn around time was quick, but they...

    Show off your 1911

Agreed. I don't mind the underdogs that are decent. :)

    Show off your 1911

No where near as fancy as many shown here, but it's my entry to the 1911 world. Nice entry level RIA 1911-A1 GI Model in 9mm. Love this thing, and I don't care that it's not in the Lord's caliber. Great shooter with Mecgar mags, too. :)

    Trigger bar causing Noseup FTFs

I did do just that. I also used the polishing compound and polishing tips to clean that edge up. The line of the feed ramp where it funneled upward and met the actual chamber opening was not chamfered like the rest of the chamber opening. I worked pretty diligently to clean that up and smooth...

    Trigger bar causing Noseup FTFs

Yeah, I discovered the principle cause for failures. I highly doubt that their "repair" to the trigger bar did anything. I attached photos. G3 barrel on left, and G3C on the right. The circled area below is where the FMJ rounds are hanging up; I only circled one side so you can clearly see...

    Trigger bar causing Noseup FTFs

The point is, every gun company can and will have lemons. Yes, Glocks are known to run very well, but there are documented Glock issues, too. Even almighty Glock can have failures. It's a machine. I'm fine with Glock, own a couple. Taurus has a past of producing more lemons/junk than other...

    Trigger bar causing Noseup FTFs

I understand that notion. However, I do have nicer guns and just wanted a G3. Also, both the G3 and G3C get pretty rave reviews, if that's all I were basing it off of.

    Trigger bar causing Noseup FTFs

Not quite, but close. The nose of the FMJ round would make it into the chamber, but would be jammed into the top dead center of the chamber at a steep angle about halfway in, and the rim of the round was still caught in the feed lips. Tap rack bang would automatically induce a double feed. I'm...

    Trigger bar causing Noseup FTFs

Taurus is already shipping my G3 TORO back, with less than 2 week total turn around time. Excellent. Quick update for those who did not see my post in the G3C nosedives thread: New G3 TORO was having consistent nose up FTFs with all magazines and with FMJ ammo. Consistently was over 25 times...

    Taurus G3C 9mm FTF issue

Another oddball update, because I just love this thread. Took the G3C, among others to the range, and ran 75 rounds through it. 25 were Hornady Crit Defense, the other 50 were Blazer 115 FMJ. All ran fine; I was focused on running the new SFx METE, so I only ran a bit through the G3C. Get it...

    Impressive Performance from "Cheap" Guns?

Surprised no one has mentioned Taurus' newer G series 9mm striker guns. They're quite good shooters. Used to be "for the money/price", but they're turning out to be just good guns. I even got my first Taurus lemon in a new G3 TORO model. Taurus and their new customer service model, so far, has...

    Taurus G3C 9mm FTF issue

Yes sir. Agreed. The LCP was "revolutionary" for its size. And it's like the worst gun on Earth to shoot. I've heard the newer gens of LCP aren't terrible, but it's the same manufacturing group as my ill-fated Security 9 models. The Security 9 has so much going for it, on paper. However, an...

    Taurus G3C 9mm FTF issue

The irony of that, is my experience with Ruger. Not as extensive as your experiences, but Ruger revolvers are built like tanks. My last 3 Ruger semi-autos taught me, no more Ruger semi-autos. It's just not a territory they're good at. You at least worked on a Taurus or two, or handled...
