    Porting an EMT

It voids the manufacturers warranty on most firearms. From what you’re saying, it’s probably not worth it for a 9mm. It would have to be a significant difference to justify the potential hassles.

    Porting an EMT

I would appreciate a reduction in felt recoil as a benefit on a large caliber pistol or revolver, but I wonder if it’s really that noticeable with a 9mm. I had thought that a reduction in muzzle flip would improve accuracy in a fast shooting situation, but again, this may only be beneficial for...

    Porting an EMT

Anyone who has actual experience with porting an EMP4 who can comment on whether it makes a difference for them in accuracy at 25 yards or felt recoil? I’m thinking of doing this but don’t have any stats on the improvement in performance if any. It voids the warranty! Please just comment on...

Adjusting Trigger Pull on EMP4 LW Champion

Does the left branch of the sear spring adjust the trigger pull force on the EMP4. I received the gun from the factory with average force of 2.5-3.0 lbs and SA adjusted it on warranty to 5.0 lbs. I actually prefer the lower force for accuracy with my small hands. So, if I disassemble the lower...

Flat Wire Takedown Piece for EMP4 Doesn't Fit

Update on the takedown tool for anyone interested: Springfield Armory Customer Service sent me a replacement takedown tool and it works just fine. I guess there's some variation in the tolerances for this tool but the new one is able to fit the opening in the guide rod and it solves my cleaning...

    LH Holster for EDC

I tried the Galco King Tuk Air IWB. They have one that says it fits the EMP4, but for some reason, it was difficult to put the gun back into the holster when I tightened my belt after installing the holster. I wear a holster in the 8:30 position because I don't want appendix carry, but the 8:30...

    LH Holster for EDC

I need a comfortable, safe and concealable LH holster for EDC that works with an EMP4 LW Champion 9mm. I've tried a number of IWB holsters that promise comfort but fall well short of the mark. I also don't think that a lot of retention is necessary in this category of holster, since it can...

Flat Wire Takedown Piece for EMP4 Doesn't Fit

O.K., after some consideration of what I would be doing with the modification suggested here, I decided to ask S.A. Customer Support for a new takedown tool with a smaller diameter wire that would fit the opening in the guide rod. I did this because this EMP4 was purchased as an EDC and I am...

Flat Wire Takedown Piece for EMP4 Doesn't Fit

I might understand this if I study it for awhile. Thanks for the explanation. My EMP4 is 9mm so I don't know about the spring. Anyhow, I will noodle it and see what I can do.

Flat Wire Takedown Piece for EMP4 Doesn't Fit

I just contacted Wilson Combat and they say that they don’t have anything for the EMP4 that matches what you’re describing here. What did I get wrong?

Flat Wire Takedown Piece for EMP4 Doesn't Fit

I assume that is also available for the EMP4-09? That would be a very welcome modification for the EMP4, but does it affect the warranty? Thanks for the information.

Flat Wire Takedown Piece for EMP4 Doesn't Fit

Update on the lube trick. Seems like the paper clip wins. The supplied wire is way out of tolerance for this guide rod. I suspect the bore diameter is different on the TRP and RO if S.A. is shipping the same pin.

Seems like we’re off the topic. Is this a family friendly forum?

Flat Wire Takedown Piece for EMP4 Doesn't Fit

Thanks gentlemen for the info. I’ll try the lube trick. Can’t understand why the tolerance is so tight.
