What Is the Best Caliber for Self-Defense?

Exactly what I was going to say. Just make sure you are using a good proven load in it.

    38 special

The .38 Special still has it's place. A lot of people who get small .357 Mags end up using .38 Spl because they don't care for the recoil from the magnum. I noticed that there were a number of good loads not listed. Like the go-to Speer 135 Grain Short barrel load, the fairly new Federal 130...

Spare FP questions; EB, Caspian, Other?

Well; An Ed Brown # 825 pin is coming. I was offered a deal on it I couldn't pass up. Since I already had a minimal bid on the Caspian pin I may end up with it too but at a little under $11.00 shipped I don't mind having an extra. Question for those with a lot more experience: Should I go...

Spare FP questions; EB, Caspian, Other?

No recommendation? I like the look of the Caspian but think the Ed Brown may be the better firing pin.

Spare FP questions; EB, Caspian, Other?

I am looking to put a few parts aside as spares for my Springfield 9mm Ronin 5" I have recoil springs but I believe I'll pick up a spare Firing pin. The Titanium FP in my Ronin has been completely reliable and has a tip dia of 0.063. Three questions: One: I am looking at an Ed Brown #825 (.065...

    YOUR CURRENT EDC

When I carry it is either a Ruger Speed Six .38 Spl in an IWB from AKJ Concealco Or a 9mm Springfield Ronin in a LOBO Leather pancake. Depends on the circumstances.

    Storm Chasers

Those guys have big brass ones. The other type of storm chaser I don't have much use for; the ones that come around after a storm wanting to check your roof and siding for damage. We had light hail and thunderstorms a few days ago and the next day they were ringing the bell and beating on...

After all these years , something of grandfathers

That is wonderful. I have nothing of my Paternal Grandfathers but I do have my Maternal Grandfathers pipe holder which I played with as a kid. I also have my Great Grandfathers hewing hatchet and draw knife. He was a carpenter, built barns and died in the late 1920's I did rehandle the hatchet.

Edge of Reality: Knife Attacks Suck

My take on this. never take a knife to a gunfight; and never let someone with a knife get closer than 21 feet away

    ELMER’S 600-YARD SHOT …

I believe it was real. He did not advocate shooting at this distance. The dear was wounded and possibly getting away. He merely used what he had along with the experience of a lot of long range "plinking" and got lucky.

He didn't want to work in a pet store anyway. He wanted to be a Lumberjack.

    Six Months, $1000

As I understand it; someone how it not allowed to own a firearm. Felons etc. could not be charged with having an unregistered firearm as they would be exempt from registration under the Fifth Amendment. Self incrimination and all that so it does not apply to them.

Getting more 9mm Range ammo. S&B or Norma

The heck with it. No Norma TMJ is sight, Contacting Norma with either a product question or an availability inquiry never gets a response. Instead I just ordered a supply of Sellier & Bellot 124 gr and some Federal .38 Spl . Checked multiple sources and ammoseek and went with one that had...

Getting more 9mm Range ammo. S&B or Norma

When I shot trap I loved Federal Paper shells. Nothing like the smell of a freshly fired paper shotshell.

Getting more 9mm Range ammo. S&B or Norma

Great input, all of you. I notice the Remington and WWB Comments. There was a time, a long time ago, that I liked Remington Ammo and Winchester firearms. I just never was a big Winchester (or Western) ammo guy. As for Remington, it just seemed to slowly go from being some of the best to ho...

Getting more 9mm Range ammo. S&B or Norma

I really liked the US assembled Norma 9mm Luger Total Metal Jacket (TMJ) 124 gr loading but after almost two months of waiting for more to get stocked I am about to give up. Also, Norma does not respond to questions technical or otherwise about their ammo, either thru their website or via...

    CCW’s & Road Rage, A Deadly Combination

I remember a conversation with a co-worker about carrying a firearm. He said he needed a gun in the rough bars he frequented. I received a deer in the headlights stare when I suggested he avoid going to those bars.
