    Shooting and Long Fingernails

Call me crazy, but I have found that when I let my fingernails get too long, it causes me to cut myself on the range. Just the fact that I'm gripping something so darn tight and that I have both hands engaged and touching each other, means that I have to keep my fingernails short. And not just...

How far would you go for your pet?

While I like the dog we purchased for my children, I have consistently informed my kids that I will not shell out more than $1,000 for his emergency care, should something nasty happen. Not an animal hater at all, but the day old age makes him crap all over himself or the house will be his last...

    Recommended Ammo

Killer has great advice. Like a reloader would do, just pick several brands that aren't too pricey and shoot them. Whichever is most accurate, buy more. A reloader might take a single bullet and pair it with 10 different powder charges and keep the one that is most accurate, then accurize even...

Do Bullet Grains Refer to Gunpowder?

Could you imagine a 300 grain 45-70 cartridge somehow stuffed with 300 grains of gunpowder? I know it's impossible, but dang, that'd be a missile in anyone's book.

King of the Lever-Action Rifles: The Winchester 1895

I gotta tell ya, I've never really liked the look of the Winchester 1895. Just not aesthetically pleasing to my eye. Now, the Marlin 1895, that's another story. Love that gun. The Winchester 1895 gives me a sensation similar to the one when I look at a Wildey pistol. Just ugly as sin.

Biden Expected To Release Rule On Ghost Guns In Days

Is it just me? I never heard the phrase "ghost gun" until Biden took office. I've been involved with guns since I was 8 years old and never heard that phrase. Did he just make it up?

Do Bullet Grains Refer to Gunpowder?

I guess any reloader would know that. Thinking back to my younger days, I had no clue what "grains" were. The confusion comes because bullets AND powder weight are BOTH measured in grains. I can use a 300 grain Partition bullet in my 45-70, but the powder charge is likely to be (H4198) between...

Malfunction-Clearing Techniques Need To Be Second Nature

Interesting take. More like just the "rack" option, and keep moving. That said, being a left-handed shooter, the "tap" option has saved my bacon before. Lemme 'splain. No, no, there is too much. Lemme sum'up. I once purchased a lovely Sig P290 for super deep concealment. It was teency and...

IWB or OWB, KYDEX or LEATHER ? Please vote

I generally opt for a mix of kydex and leather in my holsters. I only have one single ALL-leather holster.

    Dusted off the Glock today

Chiming in on the original post, I've never placed much lube on my handguns. The minimal amount I DO use, is on the steel rails of the slide and frame, and maybe a tiny bit on the outside and inside of the barrel itself.

Close encounter with weirdness in my neighborhood

I called the cops on a "Greg" one time. In my city, you must go to city hall and have a badge issued to you in order to solicit door-to-door, which MUST be worn around your neck at all times. My Greg didn't have one. He was arrested around the corner with his partner for several felony warrants.

    Dusted off the Glock today

Been a Springfield guy for a long time. Bought my first Glock after shooting one for the first time about 5 years ago. I was MUCH more accurate with the Glock than all my XDs.

    US Military Ammo Choice

Does the US military use US-made ammunition in their sidearms? If so, is there a specific brand of ammo? What sidearm model do the various branches use?

reloading questions/advice if you would please?

The press is great. I DE-prime with the press, but I use the RCBS hand primer to prime all my loads. I've owned this setup for about 7 years, so not sure when this press came out.
