    Is TWO guns Too much?

I carried a little .25 Beretta in a shirt pocket as backup to my Model 27 S&W for a couple years. Never needed it but it was a comfort. Nowadays I would probably carry a Sig P365 or SA Hellcat for backup in a vest holster.

    Contact with Law Enforcement

In my first training course as an LEO, an instructor taught us, there is someone out there every day who wants to kill you. The reason you are both alive at the end of your shift is that you did not encounter that guy today. Watch for the signs. Be prepared. When you make a stop or respond...

Pirro Threatens to Arrest Lawful Gun Owners in D.C.

I think we all understand what she meant was carrying guns illegally, but she spoke inartfully. She clarified her statement later but the purveyors of outrage had already ignited the fires.

    Interpretive Dance

I rehearsed my interpretive dance routine in the living room this morning. It begins with staggering around the room dizzy because I stood up too fast, followed by hopping around on one foot with one leg in my pants, all the while trying to avoid tripping over the dogs in the darkened room...

    Anyone else into cooking?

I grew up on a cattle ranch and feed lot. My Dad raised prime Angus. My Mom would take a prime steak and turn it into shoeleather. It's how the oldtimers cooked meat. You couldn't chew it without pouring gravy or salsa all over it. I learned to cook my own steaks when I was about 10 after...

What are you doing right now??

We ran timed drills on steel plates at 10 yards. Hit more than mised. Played "when the saints go marching in" for 200 rounds with .45 ball from my 1911. A most satisfying afternoon at the range but I feel poorer.

You Need to Zero Your Pistol Redd Dot...But at What Distance?

For most of us that's the right answer. If you are on at 15, you will be on up close and out at 25. With the .45, at 50 yards on 8" steel plates I hold the dot at 12 O'Clock on the plate and get consistent hits

foregoing any firearm buys and loading up on p/u upgrades for the next month or 2

My F250 has 230,000 miles on it. I had oil seals replaced a few months ago. Now it needs the cab mounts and shocks replaced. I love my truck but ACA and Medicare won't cover the costs of repairs!
