Handguns for Bear Defense: Will Any of Them Stop the Threat?

Around my neck of the woods, I carry a Glock 20 with Underwood 10mm 140gr Xtreme Penetrator (Lehigh solid copper bullet), Bullet weight: 140 grains Advertised velocity: ~1,500 fps Muzzle energy: ≈700 ft-lbs (about 950 joules). This is from a Glock 20. I would feel like I have enough handgun...

    What is your EDC ?

    I put 9mm but I like it all. .32, .380, .38 Spl., 9mm, .357 mag, .40, 10mm. I have a .25 and a .45 but I don't carry either.

    Changing back to Glock

I got my Osight. My oh my. It sits so much lower than my Swampfox. Plus the added rear sight notch is a plus. I really like the green dot as well. Tomorrow, when I re-spring my friend's Beretta 96 (Wilson Combat kit), I'll whip out the fat wrench and make sure its torqued down correctly and...

    Girsan P-35, PI, LW, Match

I've heard good things about them. I was tempted to get one but went with the Glock 48 instead; only because I could carry it at work and needed the justification.

What are you doing right now??

Linux is an extensible, POSIX-conformant, preemptively multitasked, virtual-memory-managed execution environment leveraging ELF binaries, dynamically linked shared objects, kernel-space/user-space privilege separation, and modular loadable kernel objects to provide a portable systems-computing...

Ayoob: My Take on the SA-35

I really like my SA-35. I would buy another if it were the 4" model, equipped with a rail and cut for an optic.

I just took my Linux Essentials exam.

    Changing back to Glock

Shooting high with my all new hiviz front sight. Did the math after a rangebtrip and now have a Dawson Precision fiber-optic model on the way; taller model. On another note, I am really hating this G48 trigger. I'm sticking with it, but am debating an upgrade, Overwatch Precision, that doesn't...

What have you bought firearms related in the last 48 hours?

I'm not to fond of the Swampfox Sentinel. I think the dot is drifting ever so slightly. So I am trying to get a warranty return for them to check it out. In the mean time I have ordered a Olight Osight-K (green dot version). It sits really low and will allow even better co-witness with the BUIS.

    Next Gun Purchase

The single most useful gun in existence: Of course getting an optic is only the first part. You need a weapon light/laser rail as well. A .460 S&W Magnum revolver can fire four cartridges: .460 S&W Magnum — the full-power hammer .454 Casull — the heavy hitter just below it .45 Colt (.45 Long...

    Range Report: Glock 48 MOS

Well I finally got my pistol to the range to zero the dot and do a shake down run. It took forever, not sure I trust the new Swampfox Sentinel 1 I put on it. Seemed like I could ballpark it easily enough but fine tuning it would make me pull my hair out (if I had any ) Anyway I finally did it...

Always Be Ready: What’s In Your FEAR Bag?

I have a Spec-Ops brang Pack Rat organizter pouch. I use it as my active shooter bag. It has a light, leatherman, IFAK, folder with a window punch, baton, neck-knife with a whistly in the sheath, sharpie, AR mag, 15 round Glock 43x/48 mag, monocular, zip ties, 550 chord (not much) and a few...

Best scope for my Springfield Armory AR... .308?

I would run a LPVO. Since you can throw big rounds I would lean into a 1-8 or 1-10 but any of them are pretty solid if you buy something like Vortex, Leupold, Nightforce (really anything proven). I have a 1-4 on a .22 and a 1-6 on a 5.56. I really thing that the 1-8 or higher would do the .308...

Can we have a little fun WHAT Would you pick?

Yeah.... no mag but you can feed them on the fly. Love my .357 lever gun.

What have you bought firearms related in the last 48 hours?

I ordered several of the new steel 15 round mags for Glock Slimline pistols. My G48 came with 2 and my 43x was jealous.

What a Red Dot Sight Won’t Do for You

For me red dots are a tool. Just like a weapon light (something I will use/mount if at all possible). There is a time and place for them. For me the red dot starts to pay off at around the 20 yard mark and extends to about the 100 yard mark (+/- 25 yards depending on caffeine intake that day)...

    Changing back to Glock

Had an issue with carrying my full (compact) P07. So I'm going back to Glock. But only for summer carry since my SAO FN Reflex won't be allowed. In lieu of having my 43x milled for a red dot I have ordered a Glock 48 MOS and all of the other accoutrements: TLR-7 X Sub, Swampfox micro red dot...
