9 "HillBilly" Cartridges That Are Still Alive In Appalachia

Interesting montage. I would include the 22 Hornet in that list. A lot of old timers (and poachers) have used it for years to harvest literally truckloads of deer. The 32-20 is an interesting choice, as is the 16 gauge (as opposed to the 12 gauge). I would rank the 25-06 on the list...

I remember reading they are "geologically related" to the hills in Scotland and some of the mountains of Norway/Scandanavia.

    America's Bolt Action in Vietnam

Although a lot of folks use Remington 700 bolt action rifles and think they are great, I’d take a Winchester M70 any day over the Remington 700, and twice over on Saturday and Sundays. Let me explain the advantages a Winchester Model 70 has: * Reciever is about 3 times stiffer. * Longer...

    Ruger Discontinues 19 Models… Why??

And I thought the idea was to make a profit. No, seriously, I get what you are suggesting. And maybe that's true, but I don't see that many revolvers for sale in any LGS or local gun shows. It's almost as if only old fuds shoot them wheel guns anymore.

Smith & Wesson Acquires Savage Arms for $160 Million

When I was younger, in the 80s, we referred to them as "Salvage," for QC reasons. Maybe they will bring back the 99? That might really boost sales and make them competitive. I just hope they don't run them into the ground like they did T/C.

    Ruger Discontinues 19 Models… Why??

And we see that S&W has acquired Savage. That is a head-scratcher for me. As a long-time T/C user I was ecstatic when S&W acquired them, thinking the line would expand and there would be a lot more options listed in the lineup, only to be disappointed when management let the line die on the...

    Revolvers. I need ideas 💡

I'll go ahead and say it .... Rossi. Look for a used 38 Special. They are out there. Save money over the used Smith/Colt/Ruger or new Taurus. Buy ammo for practice. Their action design has remained the same for years, a virtual copy of a Smith & Wesson, except the Rossi uses a coil...
