A few questions to get me started?

Get the Canik Mete SF or SFT, you can't go wrong with either. And If you get the One Series, you'll have plenty of money to buy extra mags. Here is my One Series Mete SF with the Holosun 407K optic mounted. The finish on the gun is impeccable and the reliability is excellent. The SF is the 15...

You Need to Zero Your Pistol Redd Dot...But at What Distance?

I've heard that Holosun optics are zeroed at the factory to 45 feet. I zero mine around 25-30 feet.

    Range Report: Mod.3+Echelon w/Optics Practice 2/3/26

Everyone has good days and bad days.. There are some days I go to the range and wonder why I went, then I remember that I still had fun even if I didn't shoot very well. Looks like you had a pretty decent range day to me. Harry

Range Report: Echelon 4.5F, XD9Mod.3 Optics Practice, 1/28/26

Good shooting! There's nothing to be worried about in my eyes. You're shooting a nice group at 30 feet which is well within defensive parameters. FBI defensive standards are between 3 to 7 yards, I usually train within those distances out to 10 yards. I'll run a few Hail Mary shots out to 25...

New to 1911s, not shooting...how to hold the 1911...

I use the thumbs forward grip just like on my striker fired guns, I just have to remember to drop my thumb slightly so I don't accidentally ride the slide stop and not get a lock back.

    Range Report: Optics Practice, 1/21/26

Here is another, better pic showing the K optic. I think it is the same fit as the optic you have on your gun now. The optic works with the pin system, so there's no issue with the optic coming off, but I don't care for the gaps in the front and back of the optic cut.

    Range Report: Optics Practice, 1/21/26

Oh, I do too.. I have more good days than bad, but i try to shoot weekly to keep my old eyes and unsteady hands as firm as possible. I gave up getting a 3" group, as long as I have a nice center-mass group, I'm good with that. I also enjoy shooting, so it's a win-win. Here is a pic showing the...

    Range Report: Optics Practice, 1/21/26

That is some good shooting. The optic can be an adjustment if you're not used to using one. I highly recommend transitioning either to a Holosun or a Vortex optic. I have both on my guns and I really like them, You can also get them in the larger RMR Footprint which will fill the gaps left by...

Discussion: First Look: Echelon 4.0FC Hybrid 9mm

I already did this mod for a full-size grip, but I'm glad to see Springfield offering it as another option.

    1911 Operator AOS Range Report

Today was my second outing with the Springfield 1911 Operator AOS in 9mm. I shot a mix of Fiocchi 115gr range ammo and 20 rounds of Federal 124gr Punch hollowpoint ammo. I put 100 rounds thru the gun today for a total of 200 rounds so far. Target pic is the first 50 rounds at 30ft. As you can...

    Echelon 4.0C - Should I?

I think anyone can attest here that I am a huge fan of the Echelon. Many of the issues you have described were either early manufacturing issues or operator error. I will be honest and say that I wasn't a fan of the 4.0c, I just couldn't shoot it well, but the standard 4.0 is excellent. All of...
