If you're attempting to find you dot by cowitnessing it with your iron sights you're never going to learn to find the dot instinctively, all you'll be doing is finding your taller iron sight and the dot will just happen to be there. You've going to have to relearn to locate the taller sights...

It's definitely hard to beat the G17 for a home defense pistol, I actually have the G45 as my coffee table gun and it fills that roll very well. The old lady shoots it very well and it's the pistol she's most comfortable with, so it's perfect in that regard.

I daily carry either my Hellcat or my P365X, both in 9mm of course. I love the 45 ACP but the extra amount of ammo you can fit in a small 9mm pistol just makes it a much better round for me. I carry in a LLOD sidecar appendix holster and it's fantastic!

That system to me seems way over complicated and doesn't look comfortable in the least...I carry my Hellcat in the appendix position with a LLOD Associate V2 holster and it's fantastic! The best thing about it is that it doesn't take an engineering degree to use it.
