Just got one of these. Not sure if I did it or it came that way, but the slide was boogered up behind the release. I filed it & the gun works great but looks like crap. Any idea where to get an SA OEM replacement slide?
If it still works fine, its only cosmetic, and the investment was small use it as a starter for a completely custom build of things you msy want to try on a 1911.

i wouldn't worry about that if it runs right. You can always get a Birchwood touch up pen for it

I have one of those Defender series guns, Great shooting

That' it ?
You bought this as a Shooter , presumably ?
You'll be taking it the range regularly , if not carrying ?

Just shoot it , and don't look back . It's like the first 1/2 inch scratch on a new car . A month later you won't notice or care
i beg to differ on the scratch on the car...

i fall apart at bird droppings, bug snot, dust, and a pin head sized scratch...

todays vehicles are painted with "water based" paints, which then are so incredibly thin coated, you sneeze on the car and the paint wants to peel off...

i must have like 35,000 bottles of Toyota touch up paint, and i am looking over both cars daily for any signs of the need to use up 400 bottles of that touch up paint.

cars cost (new that is)....$25,000 and up......

you bet your sweet bippy, I NOTICE SCRATCHES..>!!!!!!!!
