ABC suspends Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night show

Can't find it today so take with as many grains of salt as you like. Read yesterday that ABC was losing $4,000,000.00 a year with that show. Doesn't sound like a sustainable business model to me, add in pissing off half the country
Where were all the hand wringers when DJT got suspended from FaceTwit?
may not be what you read, but he was losing money for the network

As others have implied, while JK has the right of free speech in his private life, however his comments on his show on the air reflects poorly on the ABC company/brand since JK is technically an ABC employee.

So, the leadership of ABC had/has the right to discipline JK, or any other employee that does something unsavory while "on-the-clock".

Same thing applies to Colbert.

Especially since it is a dying format, what younger person do you know that watches late night television? It’s all about podcasting and tictoks etc.

heard on the local news channel, ABC is bringing him back Tuesday 9/23/25...

I figured he would be back on that leftest bias network, hope they lose even more sponsors…..nothing on ABC, CBS or NBC I watch

i read the tv listings.

if and i say IF a particular tv or movie star that i or the wife likes is on any of the late night shows, i will record it..

then just speed thru all the rhetoric to get to the guest.

then i delete.

Most celebrities are left wingers…..they support outlandish things…..plus who actually cares what any celebrity even thinks…..

thus is true, but also, many are (although small in numbers) not left thinking.

wife and i want to hear about a new upcoming movie, but never really go and pay to see those new movies, due to the high cost of our cable bill...better to watch in comfort at home, and simply click the channel....if the movie stinks....that way, we lost no money paying for tickets.

once any guest starts mouthing off about thier agenda....."click" goes the channel, and either fast forward to the next guest, or delete.

it fills in the time we wait for a movie to come on at 8 PM here, on the various movie channels we have

network tv, such as ABC, CBS, NBC, are not really watched here.

wife likes Hallmark (of course), for the typical "womens programs", and i like other channels, which is why we have 2 tv's.

well i got it from watching an excerpt for the John Oliver show, that Nexstar is merging with another corporation, and they needed FCC approval, which was why a lot of this crap went down......to "quiet Kimmel" for this to go thru.

or something like that.

i recorded the Oliver show on HBO, to see/hear if he had (and he usually does) anything to say about Kimmel.

that's "most likely why" the FCC guy got involved saying something like the license might be or should be "pulled" from Disney/ABC.
