It doesn't bother me as it does some members, but was giving references and not names. It was just language and not attacking someone is my reason for not reporting. Even when someone uses curse words directed at me I still don't report because they aren't my next door people.

no DO NOT retire.....

you WILL FIND things to do around the house,

your "honey do list" will never shrink

you will get BORED, and eat more

you will see things that need to be done and hate yourself....for adding it to the "honey do list"

keep working till you die.

that's why i did have a "gig" job of sorts for a short time, to get me DA HELL OUTTA DA HOUSE...!!!!!!!

even at my age, i still wanna work......i cannot sit still, and the wife is (or has) gone berserk.

NO ONE should retire...EVER............!!!!!!!!!!!

if everyone retired when they legally can do so.....WHO DA HELL IS GONNA PAY FOR THE WELFARE PEOPLE...?????

Whoa there Skippy, speak for yourself! I'm brand new to this retirement gig, but I'm loving it and wish I could have done it sooner! belladonna, don't listen to this demented individual (I'm not calling anyone names, so I don't need a snitch saying I am calling names). Retirement is the cat's meow! I know you are close to it, so just hang in there.

I might “retire”, but I will likely always work. I have an addiction to feed 😉.

Then I'm a happy slacker and love it! I've nearly lost my life several times in my working years because of certain careers and am crippled because of it. I'm loving the freedom of not having to punch a clock and worry about pleasing idiots above my pay grade.

that's true, driving a truck for 40+ years, i came close to death and that's a fact too.

and i do know about your operation.

but i started working like around 11 maybe 12 years of age, in a gas station, pumping gas, checking oil, cleaning the windshield.......that used to be an ordinary job in gas stations.

i cannot sit still

even though i too have had numerous operations, like a total (this far) of 4 major back operations, which the rods go from my L3 down to my S2, and screws into my pelvis/ulum area, and i'm talking like 3" screws.


i been cut open from that L3 down to my butt crack, and that ain't no joke.

like you i can barely walk, cannot stand for long periods of time, and cannot sit for long either.

when i shoot, i have to lean lightly on the shooting bench.

but i still shoot, with iron sights, and no bench rest.......

but to me, retirement still sucks.
