Another Legion for Pre-Order: P365-AGX Legion

I ordered the P226 X-FIVE Legion, but I'm not so sure about this one. Even $1199 is a lot of money for this one.

As much as I hate to say it, it's on the way back to Sig.
No mechanical problems, but it did have some grinding marks about an inch long on the right side of the frame that had had Cerekote applied over them that I didn't think was fitting for Sig's flagship model.
There's no excuse for this getting past Sig's quality control. Other than this obvious defect, it was a beautiful gun and very impressive in how it operated.
So now I'm waiting to see how Sig is going to handle this. If their solution is anything other than a replacement, we're gonna have problems.
From what I've seen and heard Sig doesn't refinish aluminum frames so I'm expecting it to be replaced.

Bummer. And agreed, that's unacceptable, esp. on a pistol in that price range. But I'm pretty confident Sig will take care of you. Please keep us posted.

You beat me to it, I paid $1,200 for my P226 SAO Legion, and another $500 a year later to replace the slide with the Pro/RDS slide, but that was my doing, I didn't need to. The RDS cut P226 Legion is still around this price today. I guess the portability is the argument, but around $900 feels more reasonable.

That's my point - there really have been no significant variations at all (or innovations, for that matter...). They've just been making the same handgun in different flavors for 30 years and never try anything new or different. I'd call that the definition of "milking it." And they're getting left behind as a result. ;)

At least the P320 and the P365 were/are actually innovative, and that's true even if you're just talking about the basic models.

I've been seeing P226 and P229 SAO Legions for $949, a hell of a deal! No they aren't optic ready and they are a bit large for concealed carry, but they are top of the line versions of a platform which has been battle proven over decades.
Now Sig comes out with a version of the flavor of the month club, adds fancy paint, a built in comp, and a mag well and wants $1300 for it? Sorry P365 owners, I didn't mean to belittle the P365 as it is a fine gun, but the price is getting a little out of hand.
Now that I've gotten that out, if the price gets down to $1199 (or less) as I think it will, I still might buy one.🤗

I don’t have a problem with the P365 and truthfully with the mods I’ve made to mine I’m in that Legion neighborhood, but when someone whips out a P365 Legion at the range I am going to be obliged to whip out my 226 Legion SAO RXP and utter those famous words:

That’s not a Legion. THIS…is a Legion.
 
About a week and a half ago - I was at the range and an instructor that I know there had his new P365 AXG Legion. He let me run a magazine thru it. I was sold. It was not as snappy as my P365XL (EDC) and shot a lot flatter to me.

So......
I listed a P229 Pro DA/SA that just sits in the safe last Friday. Sold it Sunday (6/30). Immediately after making the exchange, drove to a local shop that had one in stock and bought it.

Ordered a Holosun EPC carry in green for it and some extra magazines.

I'm not sure I will change out the P365XL as my EDC - but it is now open for evaluation. Still feel this was a great add to the collection - that I will actually shoot and enjoy.

It will go great with the P229 SOA and P226 SAO Legions.

Sorry, I just don,t see the attraction. I am just not a fan of Sig guns ever since I purchased a 365 when they first came out and had to send it back twice for repairs. The smug attitude of CS reps just turned me off. Have never looked at another Sig again.

I bought a new P365 about 6 months after they were released. I had read of issues. I documented the (7?) failures I had in the 1st 1000 rounds. Somehow I got a hold of a Sig Customer service rep's email address. I sent him the documented failures. Sent it in. Sig did its thing and the next 1000 rounds were flawless. I don't think I had much of any phone contact with a Sig rep in that process. If worked for me. Sorry your experience sucked.

I've also owned 3 P365XLs (one since the week they were released - still own 2) and not one failure in any of those. With my M-L hands the P365 (longer) grip is very good for me. Initially the capacity lead me to move from the Glock 43 as my EDC.....then went from P365 to P365XL. And so far nothing has enticed me to switch.
 
Does Sig over saturate the market with basically the same gun? - Yes
Is the P 365 AXG Legion overpriced? - Maybe.....probably.
Do I have other guns in the safe I paid too much money for? - Yes, definitely.

After 7 magazines thru the gun as configured in pic........

......this thing is pretty sweet.
Weight feels great in hand.
Grip is very nice for me.
Slide cut compensator does make a difference.
(First firearm I've ever owned/ran with any kind of compensator.)

I do need to put more rounds thru it for full evaluation.
